Aussies win toss; decide to bat

The grounds at the Windsor Park on Monday morning

Australia have won the toss here at the Windsor Park and have decided to take first knock here on a pitch that Curator Richard Letang says will offer “bounce and pace.”

West Indies have left out Fidel Edwards and Assad Fudadin from the starting lineup.

Ravi Rampaul will replace Edwards who has a “sore back” and the ‘home boy Shane Shillingford is in the lineup and will become the first ever Dominican to play test cricket before his home fans.

For Australia, the man of the match in the crucial Barbados test, allrounder Ryan Harris, who was rested in the Trinidad Test is back, and spinner Michael Beer makes way for pacer Michell Starc.

It’s overcast here at the Windsor Park, the sun is out and the crowd is already building up for what is expected to be a fascinating third and final Test.

Spectators begin taking their places at the stadium on Monday

Billy Doctrove cannot umpire a match when West Indies is playing – conflict of interest.
