Three accused of drug possession face new charges

Kenroy Paul, Wendel Laurencin and Eustace Henry, who have already been charged with possesion of 30,000 grams of cocaine, are now facing new charges from Customs Authorities.

The three accused men are now charged for ‘departing from the vicinity of the vessel on arrival at a place other than a notified place without the consent of the proper officer’, and for ‘being knowingly concerned in a fraudulent evasion of a restriction in force with respect to importation of 30,000 grams of cocaine’.

Laurencin and Henry have also been charged for failing to proceed to a designated customs controlled area upon disembarkation of the vessel while the charge against Paul is for causing the vessel to depart for a place outside of Dominica from a place in Dominica other than from a customs controlled area.

He is also charged with failure to file a declaration with proper officers and for failure to report the arrival of his vessel to proper officers or police officers as master of the vessel.

All three men pleaded guilty to the charges and were denied bail.

They all had appeared before a Roseau magistrate a few weeks ago facing charges for possession of cocaine, possession with intent to supply the said drug and for importing cocaine into the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The defendants are represented by attorney at law Wayne Norde.

The three are to appear in court 15th October.

I’m still hung up on the fact that these men were trying to smuggle 30,000 grams of cocaine into Dominica.

They were already charged for possession of drugs. This means they were out on bail. Are they ever bold and for taking such chances. They will never learn. Re-offenders deserve to remain in prison until the hearing. Let us see what will be their punishment.

Wow, these guys will be in for 3 months on remand before the trial begins. That’s kind of long, let’s hope that the evidence doesn’t disappear or rot!

Throw all the charges on them. Charge them the maximum on each count. They deserve it.

Always say, if it walk like a duck, talk like a duck, sell like a duck they`re dam drug dealers plain and simple. Now the only person laughing all the way to the bank is their Lawyers. If they fail once and was caught, try again and still get caught, now that`s smart?
