I will treat this as a case of “innocent until proven guilty”. However, if found guilty I want the book thrown at the said officer with all its fury. Police officers are the guardians of public safety and as such an offense like selling an unlicensed firearm to someone is unforgivable. In an era where we are screaming on the issue of crime in Dca, such behavior is intolerable and cannot be accepted. The Commissioner should perform a full internal investigation to determine root cause and flush out ALL those who knew about this and said nothing.

    In this regard, I hope the investigating officer file the following charges;
    1. Illegal Importation of a firearm into Dca if it was not brought in through proper channels- Whomever imported the gun
    2. Unlawful posession of an unlicensed firearm (Against all those who handled it)
    3. Selling a firearm without being the holder of a license to do the same
    4. Smuggling of a firearm into Dominica (if it pertains)
    5. Failure to pay customs duty on an imported item (if it was smuggled)
    6. Illegal posession of ammunition if there were bullets with the gun
    7. Illegal importation of Ammunition into Dca
    8. Illegal sale of ammunition without the proper license to do so
    9. Failure to pay custom duties on ammunition imported into the country

Several people may be charged including those who may have aided and abeted in the commission of this offense. Only a full, detailed and complete investigation will uncover the whole truth.

When we examine the execution of Monga, particularly the manner in which it was carried out it is no surprise to me,

    DNO,
Your tittle for this story is a bit off base here. Who exactly was arrested?? Why is the word local used??

Police arrested. DNO, has received information that a police …. was arrested on charges etc. Ypou may not post my comments, but please consider rewording your headline on this story.

Here is the definition of a Lawman:
    lawman |ˈlôˌmən; -man|
    noun ( pl. -men)
    a law-enforcement officer, esp. a sheriff.
Lawman is a term usually used in reference to an American law-enforcement officer, primarily sheriff or marshal.

So What?? Why can’t he get a second chance. If he made a mistake, then is he finished for ever. If thtat was so then we would doomed to hell all of us. He made a serious mistake. He had to leave the school but the problem is if he messes up his second chance, then he will pay.

For your information, God forgives and gave so many of us second chance. you know what a mistale is something to learn from and not do again.

Again I am asking you (sir/Madam) are you so perfect that you have never made any mistake. We were all born in sin so we are filthy rags. Also remember the repentant thief at the side of Jesus on the cross. When he repented, Jesus told him that this day (not tommorow) you will be with me in paradise. Let us learn from the mistake of others and lift up people when they are falling down.

    • ??????????????
      April 8, 2012

That is to say that we all yes we all are sinners. I guess this officer is young but those who believe we are better than others, our goodness is just like filthy rags. It is only when we develop a relationship with God and are nott carnal in nature that is walking in the flesh, that we can become stronger even then when we leave Jesus out of our life, that tempatations take over us. It is only when we submit to Christ and walk in obedience, that we can stand to the wiles of the “Evil ONE” and the Holy Spirit guides us.

what Dominicans can do is to record all corrupt practices they see on their cell phones and post it on youtube for the whole world to see.It will be like see a big police liming around with a big drug dealer.Look at that police beating his wife or cheating on his wife.SEE that police breaking traffic laws.SEEE that police drunk on the road and on duty. you get my point.

    • April 9, 2012

I was told that “cheating” on your wife for a Dominican is called “culture”, as well as lying, stealing and generally sneaking around and impregnating women and, oh yes, punching people and getting drunk or high. So if all this stuff is “culture”, what’s the problem? This fellow is just practicing his “culture”. A Dominican told me this!!

This is a lesson for the so called leaders of the police force. This is a fruit of what the leaders planted by frustrating all senior, well trained, hard working and dedicated police officers by deeming them corrupt and putting these young baby police officers who have not been tested and tried to operate in all sensetive sections like coast guard, drug squad, ssu, cid, NJIC, special branch and you name it. Those in khakie and taking advantage of those young police women whilst you victmize senior men your day is at hand.

I disagree with you saying that all law enforcers/police are criminals, this is stereotype, it is like saying all blacks are bad, the way that we are being ladled by other races for the wrong doing of some and those in it only for the pay we cannot label all as being the same
I know of countries where to become a law enforce/police they do a complete background check of not only the wanna be police but also all family members and if any family members past or present had and have criminal records that’s it for the person wanting to be in law enforcement

I am not condoning the officer if what he is accused of is true, and he should be delt with the fullest extent of the law..But the way some of you idiots behave like is all police officers are the same..In every orgainzation, you have good and corrupt indeviduals, just like a tree bring forth good and bad fruits. Some of you are so negative, but when something is done to you, you hypocrites run calling the same police officers to defend you..Police are human beings, and the only true and sinless man to walk the earth was jesus christ. Those talking about arrest for weed, you love to hear that. what the police is accused of,or selling or smoking weed,or any other drugs is wrong.two wrongs does not make it right. To the officers who uphold the oath of the law of Domiinica,KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I was a police offficer in the caribbean for 7 yrs,and to be honest i was too good to be a police officer from what i witnessed and experience. Here in new york i hate police, they are worse than the police back home.So you people in DOMINICA thank god for your police and appreciate them.

Some of dominica policemen are totally corrupted, take forinstance a police charged me for a traffic matter for his friend. His friend lied on me stating that he I assaulted him, threatened him and many more charges. I was never summoned to appear in court. the case was tried three times at my back,co-incidently I happened to be by the court and heard my nane. The police told the magistrate he was not aware he had any matter the said day, but he was there for all the three times pending on the four time a bench warrant will be issued for me in order that I would be remanded at the state prison. The other party have never appear in court. It is a preferential treatment and wickidness that our police are doing. I am appealinf to the police commissioner to advice his police men any charges that his police have against people drop everyone, if not that I beieve Dominice will have a lot of unsolve myster :?:

We are sinners in the sight of God, but he has assured us that he has gone to make a better place for us. There is no distant that you have travelled away from God, from which he can’t take you back. So go on my people, castigate the police and forget yourself, no one knows the things you do, it only takes a day to find out, ONE DAY.

Shouldn’t poor people have above average ambition to work legitimately to get out of that property?

That’s what i know i did in the 70s’, i grew up in a poor family, shitting by the bay etc, but i worked hard to get my own in-house flushing toilet, i didn’t go and steal from persons i thought was better off than me, no i work hard to uplift myself and family.. today i am 56 and can look back and say yes i have made it!!!
