There are moves to establish a Grammacks Museum and Music Training Center in St Joseph in memory of the late Jeff Joseph.
Dominica’s Goodwill Ambassador and musical icon, who is in his late fifties, was confirmed dead on Wednesday after he underwent back to back surgeries for cardiovascular problems at the Le Maynard Hospital in Martinique.
Local musician Gregory Rabbess says discussions on the project were already underway before the death of the Jeff Joseph.
“Jeff and myself and Sobers Esprit have been having discussions for quite some time now. These discussions centered on the establishment of a Grammax Museum in St. Joe and also the setting up of a music training center in St Joseph associated with the Grammax Legacy. We were talking about that since last week,” he said.
He said the project should be used in memory of the late Jeff Jo.

Jeff is the most greatest thing to the island of Dominica, the Michael Jackson of Dominica. The master of cadances-lypso. May the soul of Jeff Jo rest in peace.
Did u mean to say paramount?
My condolences to the family of Jeff Joseph, may his soul R.I.P. His music and his contribution to the Dominican culture will live for generations to come. Thank You Jeff, you are a true Dominican.
My most sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Jeff Joseph on his untimely passing. His father Kamos, His brother Scratchy and his sister Arlene are my good friends – Please accept my sympathy.
A musical genius and national icon not only for Dominica but the entire Creole world. Words are not enough to express my admiration for Jeff-jo. He is a legend that can’t be replaced. He joins the great patriots, like Mike Douglas, Rosie Douglas and Pierre Charles who all served Dominica selflessly.
I remembered him in Guadeloupe where we participated in a Dominica cultural, arts and musical exposition organized by Rosie Douglas through the Popular Independence Committee. The exposition was held at Hall Des Sports in Guadeloupe.
We had a great time there. We brought agricultural, produce and arts and crafts which were sold and exhibited. I was there printing T-shirts with all sorts of Dominica, Rastafarian, Cultural roots and conscious logos and prints.
Many of my conscious brethren were there. We travelled by boat to Guadeloupe. Jeff put up a thrilling musical show on stage. I was the MC and we really sold Dominica to the French people during that big event. It was in 1978. May his soul rest in peace.
It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the loss of a good friend and former classmate at the Dominica Grammar School. We entered high school the same year, 1966. His loss is a severe blow to the cultural development of Dominica and he will be terribly missed. My prayers go out to his family. Rest in Peace, Jeff.

Jeff Jo…. Thanks for the musical inspiration and giving me my first big break on the music scene in 1978 by inviting me and my band (BLACK ROOTS) to perform in a festival in St. JO…. It was there my band met Royston Ellis who later turned Black Roots into to the #1 dance band in Dominica at that time… you’ll surely be missed by me and countless musicians and friends near and far..R.I.P my brother !
A Star has gone…
Jeff Joseph was a true legend! He sang all around “Mi deba”, “Rock My Soul”, “One Two Three” (which should become a classic to be sung in all primary schools of Dominica!), “If I Say Yes”, and the mythic “Soucougnan”… Moreover, he was such a link for people in between Windward Islands of Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique and Saint-Lucia…
There are so “Many Rivers To Cross” in order to overcome our sorrow…because you have gone…Dominica’s Whales are sad…So we are…
Rest In Peace, Jeff, we will never forget you…
No one had swag like the incredible Jeff Joseph. He was the musical icon of Dominica.

Jeff Jo. gone but not forgotten…
Anything in memory of Jeff. Really hope this becomes a reality. Will sure visit there.
this idea is a great one, It will not only lift St Joe, but also good for Dominica, we need more Project of this sort for the development of Dominica.
GOOD IDEA BUT,I THINK IT SHOULD BE A SPECIAL UNIQUE DAY FOR JEFF JOSEPH. WHICH MEANS WE COULD HAVE A CELEBRATION OF MUSIC AND ART REPRESENTING AND REMEMBRING HIM AND IN THE MIX THE OTHER TALENTED MUSICANS THAT HAVE HELP DEVELOPED DOMINICA MUSIC.
Fantastic thoughts and fantastic move. We look forward to the realization of this museum to celebrate the life and music of our Musical Icon Jeff Joe and the Grammacks.
Jeff Joe’s status is equivalent to “BoB Marley’s” and every effort should be made to ensure that his music LIVES ON.
The Government must contribute towards this venture to pay homage to our cadencelypso legand.
My You Rest In Peace Jeff Joe
Like the respect J.J is gettin…Proud of my people..What about community day of service change to J.J day.Real culture time.
Nothing not too much for Jeff Joe;most heartfelt sympathy to you Kamus and family.
Romans 8 1-11
1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Go see your god Bro BJ and tell him that
ME TOO HE WAS MY GOOD BRO.RIP JEFF JO.
