LIME to launch 9th annual CITP Wednesday

Creole in the Park

Roseau, Dominica – October 3, 2011: Dominica’s leading telecommunications provider LIME, will on Wednesday unveil an exciting, sizzling performance line up for this year’s 9th annual LIME Creole in the Park.

LIME will host a media launch event at 3pm on Wednesday October 5th at its Roseau Conference facilities.  Patrons of the LIME flagship CITP event will have the opportunity to listen live on all three local radio stations to gain insight on this year’s much anticipated line-up.

LIME’s General Manager Jeffrey Baptiste promises patrons that his company will not disappoint. “This year we will maintain or even better the standard of event we have presented to locals and the thousands of visitors who come to the LIME CITP over the last several years” commented Baptiste. He added that all the top local bands will be on display including the return of some prolific local artists who have not graced the Creole in the Park stage in a number of years. He also confirmed that LIME will continue the legacy of a major soca and reggae act at this year’s event.

The new band feature will continue along with some new and upcoming budding artists, while the calypso segment will be maintained and Dominica’s local cultural attributes will continue to be highlighted.

Described as an explosion of Creole food, Creole Music, Arts & Craft and Culture, this marquis event has more than lived up to its expectations bringing together thousands of persons in one location to enjoy local cuisine, local and international entertainment while getting the opportunity to socialize. This family friendly event also caters for children providing an entertainment area with bouncy castles, other fun games and eats and drinks.

Minister for Tourism, Ian Douglas, Chief Cultural Officer Raymond Lawrence, CEO of Discover Dominica Authority Colin Piper and LIME’s General Manager Jeffery Baptiste will address Wednesday’s Press Conference.  Entertainers at the launch will include former calypso Monarch and LIME artist King Dice, reigning calypso Monarch Tasha P and overseas based Dominican poet RASMO.

The LIME Creole in the Park will be held from 12 noon to 7pm daily from October 24th to 27th at Dominica’s scenic Botanic Gardens.

:?: Why are we not applying press on LIME to develope CITP, by constructing proper facilities in that area? I recall last year someone called for the construction of an Amphitheater, that could also be use during the off season to showcase local talent to the cruise ship for a small contribution.
