Fellow Dominicans, keep up the Dominican spirit. Have fun and safely so.
Thanks to DNO for making it possible that we could view these magnificent pictures of the celebration of our heritage wherever we may reside.

I have a concern with the National Youth Rally that is not addressed. I believe our youths are being punished by the Ministry of Education on that day as many of them are force to go to school. Is the NYR for adults or is it a day to celebrate our youths and their achievement? Then why were most at the Windor Park to learn from the wise words of the island´s scholar Sydney Jules or from the many admonition from the many guest speaker? We should be in a classroom and not in the park supporting their school? If the ministry wants to keep teachers at school, why don’t they encourage principal to have workshops, seminars, etc during the NYC and don´t use the NYR as a punishment for youths.

@sanctus…. u are very ignorant and stupid.. from ur comment i can already see tht u are one of tose blinded individuals on the left hand side of this ministry/government… youth rally is for youth… and i am very disappointed in this change of tradition!

    • ??????????????
      November 4, 2011

What is your problem? There is no punishment. You have to respect yourself and your School and yJues I agree that you come to school to be at the park to support the youth rally or from the tone, you would rather be doing your own thing with no regard for your independence celebration. Why did not want to listen to Sidney Jules or the other speakers – Jealousy or whatever. Sidney is a young Dominican who has done well. What y ou need to do is not waste your time and do well too.

Why in the Classroom and not in the park. We must not be selfish. I am middle aged and we looked forward every year to the rally. What is wrong with you , just one day rally and you complaining. Whatkind of tommorrow leader will y oube.

      Move Forward !

See how beautiful our children, our youth look. Unfortunately, given all the corrupt practices, allegations of illegal acts by high repute people and irrefutable evidence and facts that have been revealed, the youth will be contaminated by those evil deeds that they are hearing about. especially on hearing that some in our society are the untouchables, who committ all kinds of wrong doings but no justice is done or seem to be done. Who are those role models in authority presently that our youth could emulate? Really look around the Govt. circles and be truthful. Who would pass as a good role model for our youth to follow? if we Dominicans love our children, certainly we must express concerns consistently to right those wrongs that have enveloipped our country.

Hey allegations must be supported by facts and not heresay. Positive Youth as your name profess start today to be positive and do what you have to do for your country and yourself. If you stop to listen to those who delve and thrive on spreading rumours and sowing doom and gloom on our country and persons, you will miss the train and be may back on what you could have achieved. If you listen to negative persons, you will become negative as well. Choose wisely what you listen to in your spare time so that you do not waste precious time. Always seek the Most High before any major decision.

I hope you become the positive youth that you have professed to me.

May God grant you wisdom as you embark on your challenging walk. Seek him at every crossroad and he will see you through.

      God Bless.

Please give Ophelia a break! There are white women/caucasians with black hair. Is something wrong with that??? Why are you making Ophelia’s hair colour an issue??? Please be objective and broad-minded.

Ophelia epitomises versatility and style. She is a true trend-setter. WE LOVE YOU LADY OF SONG – You are Dominica!!! You are a positive patriot!!!! You are our legend!!! You are one of Nature Island’s (Dominica) Ambassador!!

      November 3, 2011

      @ REDZ

You are discriminating. Take a good look at her pigmentaion. Are you color blind? I do
think that the wig compliments the color of her skin. You have a severe problem.
I viewed the pictures and I saw nothing abnormal in her wig. I did not give it a thought. I only viewed the beauty of the beautiful pageant. I noticed that she was singing. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Cease looking for flaws and being negative. Furthermore she has a right to use whatever wig she so wishes and you have no say in that. People like you give Dominicans a bad name. Mind your own business and see about your own business. While you are scrutinizing her hair and/or wig and criticizing her she is enjoying herself and could not care less about you and what you or anyone else thinks.
