Apple to release iPhone 4s in Dominica next week

Apple’s iPhone 4S will be released in Dominica and across the Caribbean on Friday, Jan. 13, the company announced today.

The company will begin a rollout in Anguilla, Antigua, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Turks and Caicos.

The product will also be launched in China on that date, meaning the 4S will be available in over 90 countries, the “fastest iPhone rollout ever,” according to Tim Cook, Apple CEO.

The Caribbean release is part of a 21 countries receiving the product next week.

Described by Apple as “the most amazing iPhone yet” the new device comes with a load of special features including a dual-core A5 chip, an 8MP camera with all-new optics, 1080p HD video recording, among others.

by the way there is our branch of fibre optic cable that was run under the sea sitting at donkey beach what is really happening to that. Are the telecomminication companies ensuring that they make maximum profits before we get connected, or are they making Dominican people remain poor.tapping into that will reduce or bill tremendously. hope some light can be shared in relation to that.

Marpin is using that Fibre Optic line. Clear Harbor is also using that Fibre Optic Line. I am not sure if SAT and Lime are using it.

I can’t imagine what the price is…. I honestly love the iphones but the 4s really doesnt have any “big” difference than the iphone4 besides, SIRI. I am in love with my SIRI though…..but its not like we’re being introduced to the iphone4s for the first time,i know countless people who has one, and companies that sell em.

Idk why they want to be like “omg, the caribbean’s getting iphone4s” mello dramatic. we’ve been ordering them online ever since their release.

Oh, Apple.com has the VIRGIN iphone4s for USD $645,its a lil expensive but worth have a factory fresh phone.

  24. I Love my LIFE
    January 7, 2012

Its an expensive device true, but much more than a phone. If all you want or can afford is a cheap phone, then thats all you will ever experience.

However that device is much much more than a phone. Its almost like investing in a mobile computer, with so many apps available.

I think those commenting about the price of the phone dont know that Apple is the one who sets the prices for its phones, and all over the world, the prices are at the same level.

Most companies just give you a deal when you sign up for a contract with them (normally 2 years), so in effect, you get the phone on credit!

What is so good about the news. Ipads in schools? I see. You’re making a correlation between technology and academic success, huh? Well, if that is the case, why is the United States ranked #17 or 25 among developed countries in math and science? the U.S. has the most technology in schools and their students are lagging in the woods. The periodic table of element does not have be be taught from Ipads.

    January 6, 2012

  34. Dubique767
    January 6, 2012

I think everyone should get one.

Why not? It will pay your rent. It will feed you when you are hungry. It will attract the opposite mate for you. It will keep putting money in your pocket when you are broke. It will wash your clothes, do the dishes, and give you a nice soothing bath after your get a headache from all the money you spent buying it. You will say, “here I am, I have the new status symbol.” “I have made it in life.”

As these phones begin to reach the ceiling in the U.S. market (you can get an Iphone 4 for a $100 with a two-year plan), Apple is looking to skin new markets and bleed new customers.

Look at me, I am an Apple Head. I have an IPhone…blah!blah!blah!

    hello anonymous

this is the best way i can explain it ..i hope i understood it correctly

the phone that i am currently using has a limit of 6 gigabyte of internet data( internet data simply means browsing information on the net) …if i go over that 6 gigabyte then i pay extra( 10 dollars for each extra gigabyte) ……so since this phone uses twice the amount of data it simply means that I’ll use my 6 gigabyte in half the time …so translation…it is a reap off

I doubt it….Lime and Digicel sell the BB down there for $2500. I owned the BB Storm 2 before I switched to the 4S and it makes the BB seem like child’s play. The IPhone is an excellent product and if I remember how things work in DA, a lot of guys are going to have to break the bank to keep their women happy with the IPhone.

  40. AJ
    January 6, 2012

My motto has always been “Look before you leap” and it sure has paid off. As it turns out, it was recently reported that some users of the iPhone 4S are now reporting to the Apple online forums that the phone has some sort of intermittent audio bug.

Basically, they’re complaining that when they called someone, they suddenly couldn’t hear the person when that person answered the call…but the person could hear them. It’s happening worldwide, so the problem is obviously with the phone rather than the carrier.

Thanks, but no thanks. Apparently, Apple seems to have added all the bells and whistles without first making sure the phone part of the device actually works properly. I have enough headaches to deal with; I don’t need a new, expensive one.

I just checked LIME’s website, and they have some amazing plans there for the iPhone4 which addresses most of those comments.

Basically, the phone starting cost on Postpaid is 999.00ec for the 16-gig, drops to 279.00ec on the mid-range plan, and amazingy comes free on their top-end plan. This is the same kind of deals you get from Verison or anywhere in the world.
