Digicel Blackberry customers to be reimbursed

Following on from RIM’s unprecedented announcement that BlackBerry customers will be able to avail of up to US$100 worth of premium BlackBerry apps in the coming weeks, Digicel is pleased to announce that it will also reimburse those customers affected during last week’s outage.

As such, Digicel prepaid BlackBerry users whose service was active during the outage will be reimbursed for the hours of interruption to their internet subscription during that period in the form of credit – whilst Digicel postpaid BlackBerry customers will receive a credit on their monthly bill for the equivalent duration of the outage of BlackBerry services.

All affected Digicel BlackBerry customers will be contacted by text message next week with the details of their individual reimbursement – and credited accordingly.

Digicel is committed to providing its customers with the best service and the best value and would like to apologise to its valued customers for the inconvenience caused to them.

We trust that this gesture of goodwill to our customers goes some way to making up for the inconvenience they experienced and would like to thank them for their continued loyalty to Digicel.

I hope when you Digicel customers get your shocking credit you will write back and say that this is just more or that Bigger, Better BS that Digicel is good at. Really trying to spin and fool people. Think people, the service was down for no more that about 3 days and they charge $12.50 a month. The refund is going to be $1.25 not your next Christmas present. LIME’s BB service costs $10.00 per month, already $2.50 less than Digicel.

LIME is still charging their customers for the blackberry service which they didnot have. This is very unfair to the customers and LIME should set a bet example.

I wonder of LIME had made any announcement, would DIGI have said anything, and to prove this further, why didnt this announcement come a day or two after RIM made their announcement? I see this as a counter-proposal, it would have meant alot if it wasnt an after-thought, but i think the purpose, of being the bigger better network, and best value, etc crap…is relatively ineffective at this point. However, good move to atleast try to show you care… :( ….LIME FOR LIVING EVERYDAY!!! (in Tasha P’s voice?)

LIME gave back the same thing a few days ago. Its not Digicel or LIME really giving anything back, its RIM, who provide the Blackberry service, because the problem was theirs so the providers just passing it on.

One thing i can vouch for with Digicel is that they are always willing and ready to reimburse customers without our asking when situations like these occur. This is what i call keeping your customer smiling…good tactic and works for me.
