Disclaimer and Statement from Tasia Floissac, Miss  Dominica 2016

There is a fake article being circulated on social media that is implicating me in a supposed drug related crime Metro-UK.org

Please note, that I have never been and was not involved in any illegal activity or have ever been to the UK.

By the grace of God, I am safe in Dominica, enjoying the Carnival season with my family and friends.

Please refrain from sharing this post and be on your guard against any individual seeking to give it credibility.

Although I passed on the title of Ms Dominica last Friday, I am still the reigning Ms Jaycees International. Articles like these, although blatantly false, still reflect poorly on my name and good reputation.

I really am calling on the individual(s) trying to smear my name to retract this article and remove it from circulation. I also encourage the sharing of the information!

Thanks

Tasia Floissac

Ms.Dominica.. the story is not true. We know it’s not true because we saw you jumping up, yet some people were excited to share it and say…hmmp. Even after you posted your statement they still believed it was true.

The same damn way LL spreading rumors and publishing false propaganda about the PM and all his supporters believing it!

    DNO;
There are times where, as a news reporting agency, it may be necessary to support some of the published news, articles, commentaries, reports, etc.
Take this example where Miss Dominica 2016, Tasia Floissac, is reported by Metro [http://metro-uk.com/] to have been arrested at london heathrow airport with 2kg of cocaine.

Not only is this story fabricated but look at the following links…

Young lady, you need to hire a cyber investigator to trace the source, then use legal means to extract a public apology and and a comfortable financial compensation.

I did a background check to see that there was a similar case in 2013 with another young lady. However, the news article in concern has some clear errors which a genuine publication would not make:
    – it is undated
    – UKBA has no department of Field Operations listed
    – there is no Robert E Perez working for UKBA (there is one at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations)

However, the exact same article is being used to smear the following persons:
    Haile Roots
    Ben Ryan
    Miss South Africa 2016
    Miss Kenya 2016
    Hadiqa Kiani
    Emmerson Bokarie

Really sad effort to smear innocent people but easily exposed as a fake article. Some people must lead sad lives to have the time to create this kind of nonsense.

Tasia it’s unfortunate what has happened to your good name and reputation and people who like gossip will feed of any garbage, however it is important that you do not present this article as having originated from Dominica or composed by a Dominican. I think you are well aware by now that this is coming from a bogus site and many others including Miss Guyana have fallen victim to the exact article, the only thing that keeps changing is the identity of the individual and country. People keep talking about “jalousie” and “sue them” as if to make seem this is a Dominican issue and this is just not so. The malicious attack using your name has to be cleared and YOU have a responsibility in so doing to clarify who you are up against. Furthermore I want to appeal to Dominicans to not share this mess because by clicking on the link you are also inadvertently opening yourself to malicious spyware and identity theft, so sadly in an attempt to spread gossip many of you now have become…

  10. Fake News
    March 1, 2017

    Hey dear,
Sorry to hear that you have been targeted but that particular fake news website has also targeted other international public figures including famed Ugandan comedian Anne Kasiime, among others. It appears that that individual has links to the UK. So far, all of their articles have been false…. I don’t think its a Dominican trying to tarnish your image. You were just an unfortunate pick… an internet hack. Be careful dear.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope this smear stops and stop soon. There is one sentence in your statement, Miss Floissac, that needs clarification. When you say you encourage the sharing of the information, what do you mean? Which information to which you are referring? I think I know what you intend to say but please remove the ambiguity in the sentence ”I also encourage the sharing of the information! ” especially as it immediately comes after ”I really am calling on the individual(s) trying to smear my name to retract this article and remove it from circulation.” The arrangement of the sentences produces ambiguity.

        March 1, 2017

Your grammar is poor and the word ‘facted’ does not feature in the Oxford English dictionary. Is English your first language?

What is wrong with you, this person was making a valid point, since there is really a bit of ambiguity. It is clear that the person is very supportive of Ms Flossiac, so chill out.

She ask to share the information not the propaganda. Which is non ambiguous

Miss Floissac, my advise to you is to keep holding your head up high. You know your capabilities.

You know that this small population of Dominica has so many haters & green eyed monsters. Today they are targeting you, tomorrow they will pick on someone else.

While you keep growing, they will keep falling.

From the moment the article was sent to me I knew that it was FALSE/FAKE and rebuked the devil. Lent is coming so he is very busy.

Why do folks take pleasure in tarnishing the reputation of others?

Tasia, who God/Jah bless, no man curse. The Father is on your side.
