ANNOUNCEMENT: Apology on behalf of management of First Serenade Band

The management and membership of the First Serenade Band wishes to sincerely apologise to the Management of Klubirds and all Registered Members for not being able to fulfill our obligation.

This is due to the fact that the sound company which was hired to provide sounds clearly didn’t live up to the expectations of what was requested.

The band was actually in place awaiting the system from 10:00 and we didn’t receive the system until after 3:00 pm. Apon arriving on the carnival route ,this was further compounded by an amplifier in a rack burning.

We did our best to get the system operational. After this both system at the back and front of the system was down.

We take this opportunity to apologise and to say special thanks to Klubirds, Dragon Windows and the many fans who came from near and far to take part in our activity. God bless you all .

So First Serenade is going on the road to play for a band and they didn’t even sound check the system. This apology by the first Serenade Band is unacceptable. So long First Serenade playing music and they are still making lame excuses. Any band worth its salt would at least sound check the system the night before. This speaks to the lack of professionalism of the band,

First Serenade blamed the bad generator for the band inability to play music for the Coco Cola band in the late eighties. I was a member of that band and the band was stalling over a bad generator

first of all, i think this bouyon lover should just be open to himself.if the so called bouyon lover was wise enough to read and understand the message that was placed,he would understand.this is pure utter rubbish ,your thinking.the band has been in here for so long and has sufficient experience.as indicated on the apology, the band was there from since 10am and the system wasnt ready until a few mins before 3pm…so what are you suggesting when you speak about lack of professionalism..what are you speaking about…i think you should clean your heart in stead and go ask God forgiveness for your sins.

    Wow!

I was a member of the Klubirds band and I had no clue this had happened. I actually came out at 3 pm to join the band. And after 20years of not even going to Roseau. I had an awesome time with my famalayalyalayalayalay! Legs still hurting but it was worth it!

    Thank you First Serenade Band!

Thanks for the apology. Please be sure to go to the highest with this one. Demand a refund! Do not settle for just an apology. If you do not stand for something you will fall for anything. It seems like Mediocrity is the order of the day in Dominica. Break that cycle. With situations like this , how can DFC expect carnival to run smoothly on the road?

Roger if you don’t understand the logistics why write as if you know?? Where is DFC coming in that situation? Was it the DFC who came late with the sound system? was it they who caused the amplifier to catch fire?

you die-a.s-poorer believe all you know too much!!!

Joe Linton, Roger never said that DFC was responsible. You so quick to spill your comments that you not taking time to make sense of what Roger meant. Roger is right. If we continue to accept mediocrity, this is what we will have to deal with and DFC can help in ensuring that there are standards and contracting companies are in a state of readiness so that we do not suffer that kind of mess when ppl are expecting to receive something for their money. Deal with the issues properly. Let’s work together. It takes all to make it happen. Guidelines. Standards. Policys. Hold ppl responsible and make an example of them.

        Damn nonsense. Well said Roger.

Joe, DFC is the organizers of Carnival. They were on the media talking about the parade route and how things should go. I listened to the media on Monday and Tuesday lamenting the fact that the bands a lagging. Their own words” there is a lull” on the streets. If the band systems do not work how can there be an even flow of the bands? That’s the point in bringing in DFC. Question asked and answered.
