ALIVE WORD: Lord heal our land

Jacqueline Richardson and her husband, Wilbert who is also a minister

As we look around us we see
The happenings in our territory
All we can do is cry out to Thee,
Lord heal our land.

The news from the media at times is so bad
That many hearts are discouraged and sad
But they that hope in the Lord fervently pray and stand
Lord heal our land.

Lord help us to understand
That the future of our territory is in Your hands
Help us as your children in the gap to stand
Lord heal our land.

Let us humble ourselves and pray
And from all wicked ways turn away
That we might hear from heaven today
Lord heal our land.

God promised us that if we repent
And not our just our garments but hearts rend
He would indeed forgive our sins
Lord heal our land.

Our forefathers have prayed for this day
That God would make for us a way
God has brought us thus far but we
Cannot forget to pray
Lord heal our land.

Let us as God’s people band
And together for Jesus Christ stand
That we would be delivered from the enemy’s hand
Lord heal our land.

So on this day in humility and from a broken heart we pray
Lord have mercy on us and deliver us today
That our territory would truly be a land of the free
And all people would walk in Your liberty
Dear Lord please heal our land.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

I am not a lover of poetry, because they never communicate any sense to my understanding. But even if those words above are written in the form of poetry, they are words of Spirit and Truth. They convince me of Jesus’ declaration, as He tells us: “The words that I speak are Spirit and they are Life”.

It is so unfortunate, that so many of us have not received this Truth, that we might indulge ourselves in the message of God’s Word, for the purpose of Life in us–our soul.
