ALIVE WORD: Don’t be staggering because of unbelief; be sober (Part 1)

Ministers Wilbert and Jacqueline Richardson

“And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”   Romans 4:19-21

What has God promised you?  What are the things that He has promised you not only in His word but also by prophetic words, open visions and dreams?

Do you believe what God has said to you?  Do you believe that these things are even possible?  That these great things could actually become reality for YOU?

The answer to that former question all depends on your faith in God.

If your faith in God is weak you are considering your circumstances, not meditating on the Word of God and not praying in the Holy Ghost, and speaking forth only what you see but not what God has said would be.

If you are in such a state this means that you are staggering.  You are drunk but not with wine but with unbelief.

Have you seen a staggering man lately, or one who is intoxicated with alcohol?  He may be trying to cross the road, trying to get to the other side but having much difficulty because of the level of alcohol in his blood.

What do you have in your blood today?  Your life is in the blood and if you have unbelief in your blood, you are staggering and not only can you get hurt but you can also hurt others.  Just as excessive alcohol contaminates the blood in like manner unbelief tries to contaminates your spirit.

A staggering man cannot think right.  A staggering man cannot make wise decisions.  A staggering man cannot remember important things that he is told while he is staggering.  The best time to talk to such a man is when he becomes sober.

God is saying today it is time to detox from UNBELIEF, detox from DOUBT.  It is time to get sober and stop staggering.  A staggering man will want to sleep.  In this season it is not time for sleeping when you are to be on watch.

“Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”  1 Thessalonians 5:6   We have to watch and be sober.  When we are sober then it is easy for us to spiritually dress ourselves.

Have you ever seen a staggering man trying to get dressed?  “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”  1 Thessalonians 5:8

The Apostle Paul knew the importance of us being sober in the body of Christ and not staggering with unbelief.

THE BISHOP
1 Timothy 3:2A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
Titus 1:8But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;

WIVES
1 Timothy 3:11Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

THE AGED MEN –
Titus 2:2
That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

YOUNG WOMEN – WIVES
Titus 2:4
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

YOUNG MEN
Titus 2:6Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

SAINTS OF GOD
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Saints of God this is not the season to stagger, let us arise and be sober so that we can do what God has called us to do.

Let us arise and put on strength and exercise the faith of God.

Let us eat the Word and drink the Word, breathe the word and just believe the Word for therein lies our persuasion that God who has promised us much is able also to bring it to pass.  (Continued in next devotional)

Ministers, you are doing a great Job.

It is quite alarming though, as I go through DNO pages, to see that hardly anyone would comment or promote things of the Lord.

They are all so much into “gossipy” things rather.

      Servant of the Lord

The Richardsons do their part; it is left for you and me to do ours. Most people are still ignorant about God and His Ways. Even if they read the Richardsons’ article, they may not understand it; but those of us who understand it, are responsible to reveal our understanding, through a brief testimony, or an elaboration–comment on a word or a line spoken by the Richardsons to your understanding, to help others.

But if we simply say Amen! Or this message has helped me a great deal! Those who did not understand what the article said, would neither understand what it is the help or the Amen we are talking about.

Also those of who come to this page, are not dedicated or consistent with our comments, even we are simply saying, Amen!. Remember that as people of God, we are responsible, not just the Richardsons, in this case.

But that is our flaw, as human beings–we seem to always be depending on one set of people, regardless of it has to do with getting to know God, or getting around with the rest of our existence in this world. But with God, that is why Jesus said: “Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to Life, and there are few who find it”. Matthew 7: 14

One of the primary things that God has promised mankind is healing of heart, mind, body, and soul, because of the suffering, death, burial, and resurrection of His Person–the Son–Jesus Christ.

Prophet Isaiah said about Jesus–800 hundred years before He came to this world–“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement–punishment–of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed” Isaiah 53: 5

However, even the many of us who have spent our whole Life in a church, up to this point, have failed to realized that God is Love, the only state of Life. In Life, we are healed of our human nature–vulnerability and weakness. Apostle Paul and Peter describes this human nature–this mortal state of ours–as a tent that groans; waiting to put on new clothing–mortality being swallowed by Life; that we might know the ecstasy of immortality.

Why can’t we, human beings allow faith to remove us from this conformed existence of our mind, as God’s Love cleanse and sanctifies our heart, mind, body, and soul–to become healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ? To be transformed, and live with a renewed mind–the mind of Love, Spirit and Truth–the Mind of God, in His Person, Jesus Christ. How glorious, Life in this world could have been, if only human beings could believe, receive, and conceive the promises of God!

Praise the Lord! Halleujah! Thanks for the word and the encouragement and comfort so we will remain sober at all times. We should not be staggering and again thanks Sis & Bro Richardson. I am sure many will be blessed by this article.
