ALIVE WORD: God’s timing is always perfect

Ministers Wilbert and Jacqueline Richardson

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Lord dropped into my spirit to remind someone that he is a god of perfect timing. If you’ve been feeling recently like, “Lord, I do not know what to do, say, or pray next regarding my situation,” this devotional is for you.

We’ve stepped into a new season. Many Christians are experiencing a fresh anointing and a new wave of the Holy Spirit as the glory of the Lord is being poured out all around the world.

However, we must remember that this season is not a season that we’ve created. This season is a season that has been created for us by the Lord. God wants us to experience His manifold blessings and to experience His power and presence in a way that we never have before. We often forget that blessing comes with persecution.

Times and seasons are all in the hands of the Lord. Thank God they are not in our hands or we would really mess up. We look at things and we sometimes figure that we know what the best solutions are. We think that we know just what needs to be done to right the things that are wrong. However, we are not to lean on our own understanding. We are to trust God and trust the perfect timing of God. We must all realize that life is filled with challenges, storms, floods, fires, mountains, valleys, sorrows, and pain. But we serve a God who is the answer and who provides peace, love, joy, hope, rest, and strength, and who is always with us.

To those of you who have prayed and believed God for years to bring deliverance, be reminded today that God still reigns. It may seem like you’ve been crying and praying to God for a long, long time, but do not give up on God.

God has a perfect time to come through for you. Maybe you have fasted, confessed the Word of God, and prayed, and you are still waiting. Hope in the Lord. You see that Jane got her breakthrough and James got his breakthrough, and you wonder if God forgot your address.

I’m talking to those of you who had a dream years ago that you owned your own home, but you’re still in a trailer, an apartment, or married and living with your parents. I’m talking to those of you who God spoke to and told you that your husband or wife would be saved and on fire for the Lord, and it seems like your marriage is about to hit rock bottom.

I’m talking to those of you who had a prophetic word spoken over you saying that God had called you and that you would one day be in full time ministry, spreading the word of God all around the world and you cannot seem to see how or when this could ever happen.

I’m talking to those of you who are sick in your body and know deep down in your spirit that the Lord told you that He will heal you and make you completely whole. I’m talking to those of you who are so deep in debt that you actually feel like a mountain is being built over your head and you’re carrying the load and the pressure from the creditors, afraid to even answer your telephone or check your mail. I’m talking to those of you who long to see your family live in peace instead of the constant turmoil and confusion that surrounds you.

Be reminded today that God has perfect timing. Because the things you’re believing God for haven’t happened in what you thought was the perfect time, that doesn’t mean that they will never happen. Keep focused on the Lord and hope in the Lord.

Now more than ever, you need to trust God and trust God’s timing. There are things that cannot happen for us right now because God is in the process of preparing people to bless us in certain ways. There are things and people that God is protecting you from, so He has to create divine delays or scatter some people away from you.

We must come to the point where we are able to give God thanks—not for everything but in everything. This is not the easiest thing to do, because our flesh wants us to look at the circumstances and then decide if we’re going to praise or to complain. We must choose to trust God and to praise God no matter what.

God, in His divine wisdom, shields us from a lot of sorrows, troubles, and heartaches. He closes doors; he lets us wait at times so that patience and faith can be cultivated in us and we will come forth as pure gold.

Whatever you do, don’t get frustrated and throw up your hands in despair. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage. God’s timing in your life is perfect. So many husbands and wives today wish that they had just listened to the Holy Spirit and waited on the Lord. So many young people today wish that they had just waited instead of becoming teenage parents. So many business men and women today wish that they had just waited on God’s timing and not went ahead of God.

The danger at times is to go ahead of God when we think that God isn’t working things out fast enough for us. Do not grow weary in waiting on God.

Fainting is not an option. “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). Wait on the Lord.

Wait on God’s divine timing. Know today that God can always be trusted. As long as you live in accordance with the Word of God, know that God will do all that He promised to do for you, in his perfect time.

In the mean time, “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord” (Psalm 27:14).

Yes, indeed! God’s timing is always perfect!

The only problem with us, as human beings, is that we are forgetting that we cannot tell God what, how, and when, we want Him to do things in our lives. We must learn to realize God will manifest our needs or our call to Him according to His Will for us.

I remember a lady, claiming that she had some divine power, based on an experience she had a long time ago–which she claimed was spiritual. Because of that experience everyone was exalting her; that was the reason my friend suggested that I alllow her to pray for my hearing–which was then profoundly disabled.

I allowed her to say the prayer, and after she was finished, almost having burst my ear drum through pressing her fingers into my ear lobe, so forceful, as she prayed, I thanked her for the prayer; but I assured her that I truly believed God would heal my hearing by my faith, and the Power of His Holy Spirit, at His time.

The lady responded by telling me that my faith means that healing should happen right after she had prayed. Not only did I perceive that she assumed she was greater than God’s Holy Spirit, but also she simply meant that since her prayer did not heal my hearing, I did not have faith. I simply felt sorry for her.

I can hear now; after ten years of profound hearing disability; but it had nothing to do with nobody praying for me. God restored my hearing by my faith, my hope and trust in His authority, and my own prayers to Him–but at His time, not mine or anybody else’s.

Many of us are like Martha in the Holy Bible. When Jesus showed up after her brother, Lazurus, was already dead and buried, she blamed Him for being too late. She said: Lord if you had been here, my brother would not have died. She had called for Jesus when her brother was sick; her brother died before Jesus came, so she gave up on Him; she completely forgot that Jesus had the power to perform miracles.

When Jesus told her: Your brother will live again! She decided to think of God’s work in the future. She said to Jesus: Yes I know, my brother will rise again; but in the resurrection. What Martha did not understand was that Jesus had come to bring her brother back to Life, right at that time.

We simply must learn to talk to our God–present our petition, our supplication, our intercession to Him–and leave it at that; with faith that God is a Faithful God. Wait on your God, who is the Person of Love, in the Body of the Son, Jesus Christ. He knows what is for you; He knows when it is the best time to hand over that thing to you; and that thing will always be according to His plan for your Life–not always what you desire of your own.

Just be faithful and or patient, be trustful, be hopeful, and be thankful.
