ALIVE WORD: If God be for you, no one can be against you

Ministers Wilbert and Jacqueline Richardson

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”  Romans 8:31

Someone today needs to be reminded that God is on your side.  The battle is raging on the left and on the right but God wants to remind you today that He is for you.  Yes, it may appear as if things are not going in your favour. It may appear as if your prayers are not really being answered.  It may appear that the enemy is gaining grounds but look not at what you see but look at what God says.  Believe what God says.  The Psalmist said When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.”  Psalm 56:9  As long as you are trusting God and really abiding in Him, you can be assured that God is for you.

Some people get up in the mornings and the thought that they have to go to work … On the job there is stress, pressure, confusion, injustice.  For some it’s the boss, others it’s the co-workers, others it’s both the boss and the co-workers.  While there are those who at the end of a work day do not look forward to going home…the turmoil and the strife, the abuse, the inability to be at peace in a place which should be a place of rest, your home, but is a place of unrest.  Marital problems, family confusion, financial stress, mental pressures – whatever the situation that is challenging you, give it to God.  For some it’s the landlord, for others it’s the tenants.  For some it’s their pastor and church leaders and for others it’s the church members and the brethren.  Many marriages are marriages in name only.  Husbands and wives are divorced but just do not have the papers.  They live in the same house as strangers.   The devil will use whoever avails themselves to be used as agents against the saints of God.  But today be encouraged, and remind yourself that God is for you.

People may be busy being like Haman and setting traps and plots for you to fall in but have no fear.  Jealousy and envy lead to nothing but evil work.  “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”  James 3:16 But God has promised deliverance in 2 Timothy 4:18 “And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Be encouraged, God is for you.

Someone today, you have tried all you know to make peace with your family.  You have even let things slide for the sake of peace but the more you try to be a peacemaker the more war seem to be breaking out.  You have been on your knees crying out to the Lord over the family division and confusion. You are being falsely accused and your pure motives are being misjudged while your words are being twisted. As hard as it may be, do not allow the agents of war to make you lose your peace in the Lord.  “Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”  Psalm 55:22  There is hope in God.  God knows how to deliver you.  He knows how to turn situations around and cause “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.”  Psalm 118:22  Don’t for one moment think that you are in this alone.  God is for you.

So many today are walking around, well dressed with fake smiles on their faces and saying the right words but on the inside they are bleeding, hurting, unhappy and even suicidal.  I am talking about Christians who have some how gotten to a point of hopelessness and doubt plagued by fear and discouraged.  Some do not want to be real and admit that they are in such a state, for fear of what people will think or say – so they continue to live a lie, pretending to be strong, grounded and full of faith.  God is a God of truth and it is not His will for any of His saints to live a lie and live in such bondage.  Reach out in faith and allow God to bring about the changes that need to happen in your life.  Remember, God is for you.

We are told in Hebrews 5:8 “Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered.”  Suffering is a part of the path that leads to spiritual growth and maturity in Jesus Christ.  We must all walk the path that our Master walked.  Yet just as God never left His Son Jesus Christ in the darkest days of His life as he hung on the cross, likewise God never leaves us in the darkest days and hours of our lives. God is sure to avenge all adversaries and fight all battles.  “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”  Psalm 118:6  God is for you.

Today, allow the peace of God to reign in your life in the midst of challenges, in the midst of adverse circumstances, in the midst of broken relationships and difficult decisions.  We leave with you the words of Romans 8:31-39 “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Beloved, remember today that GOD IS FOR YOU!  Have a glorious weekend.

More than anything else, I hope the pastors are Dominicans. We need people of such spiritual strength to be the worriers for God. These days, many of us turn away because it is so easy to hide. Technology has made it so comfortable for us to forget our history, culture, and the way we were raised in Dominica.

Thanks for the strength of your words. They did not criticize, nor were `they associated with a particular religion or trend; plain and simple facts, they were just. Again, thanks.

The Richardsons are focused on passing on the Good News–the Gospel of Jesus Christ–to the people of the Caribbean, or all those who read their message. They conduct that message with spiritual wisdom and knowlege of God and His Love.

From time to time they will have to speak words of Truth that might not fit well in some people’s mind; but they definitely do not criticize anyone; and for sure, they are not about religion. So no need to worry about that. Just keep in touch with the message of God, where ever you can receive. It does not have to be from Dominican pastors either.

The “pressure at work example”, is one of my testimonies of suffering and my deliverance, because of God’s Love for me. Yes, I am sure that when God is for you, nothing can come against you.

It is difficult for me to believe that someone else has encountered more torment and torture at his/her work place than I did. This heartless conduct of harrassment came on me through my employer and his business supervisor. Two years of torment and torture that damaged my health to this day. Yes, there were many, many days during those two years that I dreaded going to my work. But that was my only choice; its a long story.

However, God was working with me for those two years; much, much ,more forceful than I could ever imagine. And when He delivered me from those two vultures and their business organization, He allowed it to happen for me with dignity–the banner of my faith and trust in Him, and because of His great Love for me. Who can separate us from the Love of God that is in Jesus Christ? Nothing and no one; not even death. To God be the glory!
