ALIVE WORD: Prepare to meet your God

Jacqueline Richardson and her husband, Wilbert who is also a minister

“…prepare to meet thy God.” — Amos 4:12

Jesus Christ is coming back for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle—a church that is on fire for Him. He said in Revelation 3:15,16 that we must be hot or cold, because if we’re lukewarm, he’ll vomit us out of His mouth. We are in the last days, and as we approach the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ it is important for us to strive to live holy lives, lives that are pure and clean in the sight of the Lord.

Ephesians 1:4 tells us that we should be holy and blameless before Him in love. This is a serious command and bears with it great responsibility; it is a command that is possible to fulfill only through Him. As much as we try to live holy lives we’ll sometimes sin. Praise God, Jesus Christ has made provision for our sin. He said in 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God hates sin but he loves the sinner. God doesn’t condone sin in any form and tells us in 1 John 2:1 “…that if we sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” When we sin and become convicted of our sins, we should always repent and ask God to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God doesn’t want any of us to perish, but wants all of us come to repentance. Who God loves, He chastens and corrects. But we must first be willing to admit to sin in our lives if it is present. If we’re servants of sin, we live in bondage and can never truly experience freedom in Christ. Unconfessed sin will taint our relationship with God and prevent us from moving forward in the Lord. God created us in His image to worship and glorify Him, but Psalm 66:18 tells us that if we regard iniquity in our heart, the Lord will not hear us. Isaiah 59:2 says “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear you.”

God loves us, and it is His will that we be in health and prosper even as our soul prospers. Proverbs 28:13 says “He that covereth his sins will not prosper but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”

God speaks to us in different ways. We must be always willing to obey the Word of the Lord. None of us knows if we’ll live to see the next minute. The most important decision we can ever make is to make Jesus Christ Lord and master of our lives. After all our struggles, after all our labor, and after the many fires and floods we’ve been through, we don’t want to stand before the Lord and have him say, “Depart from me, I don’t know you.” Matthew 7:22 says, “Many shall say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”

We cannot afford to miss heaven. If you’re not born again or if you’re a Christian but not where you ought to be with the Lord, I encourage you to confess your sins to Jesus Christ today and ask Him to forgive you, to be Lord and master of your life.

God loves you and He wants you to spend eternity with Him.

SINNER’S PRAYER

If you don’t know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and would like to accept Him today, please say the following prayer.

Dear God,
In the name of Jesus Christ, I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I need a Savior. Forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Your Word says in Romans 10:9 and 10 that if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, I shall be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. I now confess Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

    @child of God

And who is the god that you belong to, who did not show you that I neither condone to sex in marriage or out of marriage. I said sex is lust, meaning that it is of the flesh and the things of the flesh is not of God.

But do you know who Abraham was? Well he had sex with his wife Sarah’s maid servant, a black woman named Haggai. She gave birth to Ishmael, Abraham’s first son. And do you know who Isaac was? Well his marriage to Rebecka, was a ritual of sexual conduct. the first night they met each other; This kind of marriage ritual took place in Isaac mother’s tent, who dead by then. Also do you know who Jacob was? Well he had two sisters for wives, and those wives had maidservants as well, but he had sex and bore children through both his wives and their maidservants.

And do you what God did with the children of Jacobs children? Well He choose them to be His people. Now do you know what God think about Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jesus tells us that God remembers them as people who alive, because He tells us that God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not the God of the dead. You sound a lot like one of those dead, that Jesus is referring to

So you child, of whoever the god you are, my God of Love, Holiness, and Truth would not hold it against even if I did say that sex out of marriage is not a sin, because the men who are the fathers of His chosen people are men who had sex out marriage. God honored the children whom Abraham, Isaac and Jacob conceived without marriage, even to the point where He chose a tribe of one of those children to be his priests.

Who is the god that you belong to, that influences you to choose an article that teaches you to prepare yourself to meet God, but instead you choose to bark at me with verbal insults, without understanding the comment I posted?.

Take care of yourself, child, and of your god. For I am certain that this god, whose child you are, is not the God of Spirit, Holiness, Love and Truth whom I know, for He live in me and I live in Him.

Be careful with the insults you spit out, because your own spittle will bounce back in your face. Also I know who you are, for the nature of your comment identifies your character. Know that you do not scare me one bit; so you are wasting your time; and you are asking for me to ridicule you to the public

Thank you to the Richardsons for simply reminding us about what God wants from us as people. And what God wants from us as people is that we live the lifestyle of holiness, for God is a holy God.

Quoting from the Richardsons: “God loves you and He wants you to spend Eternity with Him”. Most people do not know that they must have assurance of that truth before their days in this world comes to an end, or before the return of Jesus Christ, which ever is first for them. In other words most people are waiting to die, believing that they will simply meet God at the other side of their grave. But again, according to Jesus, as the Richardsons quoted: “I never knew you, depart from me, you that work iniquity.

We cannot continue with the control of our flesh through our human mind and expect that Jesus might choose us after we die. We have to make sure that we know Almighty God, in Jesus Christ, and we are living with His forgiveness every minute of the day, while we exist with an awakened conscience, and a mind that He renew, that our soul might come alive in us.

God wants us to be holy in His presence, but we must prepare or practice to live holy lives. Unfortunately, we have too many preachers and teachers of God’s Word, who leave out the important messages like this one from the Richardsons, as they try to confuse and corrupt our minds about the things that will eventually pass away, like sex, marriage, and all the other social conducts or passions of the flesh.

The only way we can live holy, is to exist with a holy stature of Life. This Life is the Life of the Spirit in Love. Jesus lived that Life on earth, and Nicodemus noticed. So when he went to asked Jesus about His Lifestyle, because of the way He did things, Jesus told Nicodemus “You must be born again.” John Chapter 3

In other words Jesus told Nicodemus if you want to be like me, you cannot continue with your nature of flesh and blood; you must start with a brand new existence, and this existence is Life in the Spirit. In that existence you will be demonstrating the traits of Love, which is Life itself, “for the flesh surfeits nothing”.

The apostle Paul tells us that at baptism (not as a baby) we die with Jesus, so we can be raised with Him, to live a New Life. This New Life that we begin to live after our baptism as an adult, is the Life of Spirit and Truth–the Life of God’s Love, in the Person of Jesus Christ.

We practice to live this Life through our demonstration of Joy, Peace, Kindness, Goodness, Patience, Endurance, Humility, and Self-control, which are the traits of Love–the Fruits of the Spirit. And we must be in full practice of those traits or Fruits before we die, or before Jesus’ return to this world, whatever happens first for us. The choice is now!
