Are you a fake?

How many of us are true Christians? True Catholics? True Adventists? Or how many of us are fake Christians?

Well it is during festivities like Carnival that we can often differentiate the few that are true.

I do not see anything wrong watching a parade or attending a cultural activity. But how can you worship every weekend and every day, yet you participate in jouvert and jump-up,  gyrating to pulsating un-godly band music? How can you be in the middle of a parade spinning your boom boom like a wheel and you’re online telling me to turn from my sinful ways and accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour?

I just do not get it. I think we were given a choice to choose: good or evil. You can’t do both. You can’t go between, based on the little bit I know, so why meddle and dabble? Who are these fake Christians fooling?

Once I saw a minister bump and grind a woman so low in carnival I had to double check my lenses to see if they were smeared. It cannot be mister who want to give me Biblical lessons on Sundays? And their defense? It is cultural.

So you’re telling me Jesus would go to a Triple K jam and bump and grind to “Wood dem, wood dem”.

For all those fake people: If you’re just going to church to fill the seats, warm them or to make up numbers, please don’t try telling me to change my life. Change yours first. Be an example.

How can you be a true Christian and true churchgoer when you’re gossiping and stabbing people in their backs? How are you a true Christian when you tell lies on your co-worker? How can you be a true Christian when you’re lusting lesbianism? How can you be a true Christian when you’re helping a husband and a boyfriend to cheat?

How can you be a true Christian when you’re stealing and cheating time from your employer’s work hours to do “other” things?

How can you be a true Christian when you’re smiling with people, but talking bad about them, then place “holy” messages as your online name when you’re nothing but a devil in disguise?

Some of our pastors are also fake.  They are preaching the Word, trying to lead the “flock” while holding the frocks. They’re slaughtering their female sheep in the church every week but chastising the congregation for fornicating, and having babies “before marriage”.

Some peeps are all in it for the money and prestige.

How can you be a pastor and a minister and cannot preach or write properly. Your lessons make no sense yet your stupid flock eat it up like green grass.

Some of our holy Christians are heartless, vain, and pompous.

I have met so many people who are asking me if I am not going to church on Sunday. Immediately I get confused. First I thought: who are you to be asking me that? Aren’t you the one who told me you freaked your boyfriend’s sister and love threesomes? Aren’t you the one who called in to your work place sick when you were not sick? Weren’t you the one who tricked a dude to top up your phone with the promise of paying him back but blocked his number? Hmm. I could go on and on… but yet you want to ask me why I am not going to church. So why are you going to church?

Is church a place where people attend if they are bored? Is church a place where people hang out to find their new booty call? Is church a place to occupy your time when you nothing to do on a Sunday or week day?

Is church a joke? So why attending it every week for so long and you’re life is no better than the drugs man and prostitutes?

We have little salops running around town acting like saints but behind closed doors they will climb a wall like it is a step.

You have people in church spoiling people and their children and talking about the Good Book. You’re married to a man who does not know church and know Jesus, but you want to convert other people?

And why do some of these corrupt politicians and journalists like to use Jesus’s name and refer to the Bible when you’re lying every day, trying to stab your fellow colleagues in their backs with false rumours and political propaganda? So Jesus’ name is now a joke? If Jesus had to put a price to his name, politicians would be running to the IMF every month to pay a huge debt.

I know of a particular journalist who likes to call people thief and dig up peoples past and spread lies on people, yet he loves to talk about God. My boy, you’re good. The devil has a special place for you in hell if you don’t change your ways.

Yes I am rambling, and it is my mouth. I talk what I feel because I am tired of the hypocrisy. It’s either you’re in our out.

Do not harass me about my life when yours is s***t.

You’re telling me I am dirty, I love plenty women, I do this and that, yet you’re at jump up, you’re lying, you’re spreading false rumours, you’re taking people man, you’re stealing tampons, and tricking people for credit.

You call yourselves priests but you lust at my friend during counselling, you like little boy butt holes and you’re a freak.

Old Year’s night are the most eventful. That’s when all the devils become good angels for a couple hours. Everyone wants to run to church before the New Year arrives, but after it arrives and we realise Jesus didn’t bother to come, we go back to our old ways.

I could go on and on, but I’ll stop here. I am not a Christian, and though I would love to be one (and yes I darn well know God is not waiting on me), I know that the day I decide I will ensure I act like a real one.

See ya next week.

If we were to divide society into groups it might look something like this. (1) Those who don’t profess to have a relationship with God. They may be good living people in their own way or they may be obvious sinners. (2) Those who identify with a church or faith community and live godly lives. These are the ones who avoid bad behaviour and keep away from sinful activities. (3) Then there are those who are church members. They may profess to saved, or to paraphrase, they may claim to be born again. But their lives unforunately do not back up what they say about themselves. It’s not only in Dominica. It’s everywhere there are people! When they lose themselves for a hour or two – or for days – in an ungodly celebration of some kind and say, “It’s a cultural thing…” But it is the culture of the world, not the culture of the Kingdom of God. They need to read 1 John 2:15-17, Romans 12:1-2, and 1 John 2:15-17. The Lord Jesus said there would be people like this in the church. This is why he spoke the parable about the wheat and the tares. He said the wheat and the tares would grow up together. But at the time of the final judgment the angels would separate the two. The most important thing for me is to be sure I am real. Nice Guy, I suspect you have a good knowledge of how a Christian should live. In fact, you would like to be a Christian. I mean a real one! But your conscience won`t let you be a phoney. Your own lack of security is the reason why you are so angry at these hypocrites. I was the same way for years even though I was a minister. But I finally got got a handle on things. Now I realize God will take care of the pretenders in His own time. But I want to assure you that there are many true Christians in our churches who love the Lord. They are not perfect. They are only pilgrims like myself in search of that city, whose builder and maker is God. I pray you will surrender your life to Christ. Let Him deliver you from the bondage of sin and take away all the bitterness. Because – this I know – with your depth of feeling for what is right – you will make one tremendous Christian soldier! Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist. http://www.livinghopeministries.ca (I realize this NICE GUY column was written three years ago and he may never see my comments now. I have written the many people out there who are critical of Christians and have a right to be. I want to help them put it in perspective.)

Firsly, I agree with Waitukubuli, is either someone is a Christian or they are not. People who profest to be Christians and living sinful lives are fallen Christians. A christian is a follower of Christ. If someone says they are a Christian and after examining their life and they see they are not living in accordance to God’s Laws and principles then they are not a Christian.

Acceptance of Christ as ones saviour has to move an individual to turn away from his old way of life and adopt the ways of Christ. Jesus came to earth to show us how we ought to live our lives and in doing so we make his Father happy.

If I had to look at the lives of human beings be they Christian or not, I would never want to serve God because we sin every single day in thoughts and in deeds and no one is perfect. However, that is no excuse to condem someone and use as an excuse to not serve God. A person may be a drug addict but that doesn’t mean that they want to live their entire life as a drug addict. That person may just be crying out for help and if we know better it is best to talk to the individual and try to help them.

One of God’s commandments is to love one another as ourself. If I love you I will help you to live a better life. If you refuse then that’s up to you. The most I can do is pray for you that you will one day see the light and make a complete change.

Secondly, there are hypocrites in the world whether or not they are Christian, Muslims, politicians, religious or non religious. It’s something that we can not fight. At the end of the day they will have their reward. God will deal with them so let’s not put it in our hands to deal with them. There actions shouldn’t draw us away from God Almighty, it should make us want to please him more because our goal should be not to be like them. We should therefore be lights in the world even if you are surrounded by darkness.

Thridly, Mr. Nice guy article brought up a discussion that many shy away from because they are ashamed of persons they know that do that or themselves. Nonetheless, let this be a warning to all who claim to be Christians that the non Christians are looking upon our lives so they can get role models to immitate or encouragement to change their lives. We can either build our brother or destroy him, so let us live lives that can impact possitively on others whether we are Christians or not.

Lastly, we were created to serve God Almighty. He created us. Remember whether or not we chose to serve him we still have to give an account to him on judgement day. Hence as long as we have life let us honor and obey him to the best of our ability. The good lord said go out and preach the good news to the world saving sinners who have sincerely repented of their sins. Let’s teach each other about Christ and his Kingdom so we all can have a place in it rather than bashing each other for they sins we openly practice or do in secret.

WE ARE NOT PERFECT!!!! NO ONE IS!!! WE JUST ARE NOT BECAUSE WE SIN EVERYDAY!!!!

Let our light shine so they shall see our good works and glorify God rather than man(Us).
May the good Lord bless you all and to those who are uncertain, lost and even seeking just take the time to pray and ask God and he will answer. I do hope you find your way to him before the door closes. Don’t be like the people in Noah’s day…

    GOD(JEHOVAH/YAHWEH) LOVES YOU

Nice Guy, nice article! I really must commend you on your great work because I have been very critical of you regarding many of your past articles. I must say though that you should not let hypocrites actions allow you to be robbed of the joy of living for Christ. It would be wonderful if you would accept Jesus today and become a christian for time waits for no man! What a great mouthpiece you would be for the Father if you would and be able to minister the gospel online with your big mouth! Much love!

Funny how the people outside a group always know how those within should be acting. Judge not lest ye be judged Nice Guy. You see, behind the mask of Nice Guy is a real unsaved, bitter soul. If the Lord if calling you and you are running from him, you’ll never have peace. Instead of looking at others, do some self-evaluation Nice Guy. Every man has to account for HIMSELF.

That is why some of all you just cannot pass English CXC. In the last paragraph Nice Guy said plain and straight that he is NOT a Christian…stop trying to cram your opinions down people’s throats. People will do what they want, when they want, for as long as they want. Why??? BECAUSE THEY CAN!!!

  8. February 22, 2010

mr nice guy what you said is true and i agree with it! what i do not agree with is that as a christian you should not even be in those places whether you did not go to jam and just watch you should not dwell in such places. cause jesus would not even go to watch carnival knowing the kind of activities that take place there so while we are blaming others we must first look at ourselves sometimes we do things and we are not aware of it………….. how u know the minister was bumping and grinding low in the jam cause u were there and as a christian you should not try to justifying ur reason that is watch u was watchin and nothing is wrong with that well it is wrong u dont have to do to sin u know just having evil thoughts is a sin……….. so becareful to the places u attend

Firstly, i’d like to stick to the topic here and say that I agree with Mr. Nice Guy. I’d also like to commend him for having the balls to speak about this in the first place. It takes courage to be honest with ppl, when u tell the truth, it stings and offends. There have been many ppl here telling you that you shouldn’t judge. They even go as far to call judgement a “sin” which i will say (and you can quote me on this) IS A GREAT MISUNDERSTANDING OF THE BIBLE. Here is my reason why. The bible in no way says that judging is sin, it isn’t even against judging at all. MANY MANY MANY ppl are familiar with the verse “Judge not, for thou shall also be judged (Matthew 7:1). Sometimes i wonder why we always know 1 or 2 verses in a chapter but that’s ALL THAT WE READ. Here’s some logic for us all. It is IMPOSSIBLE (yes, i said it) not to judge. The only human beings that don’t judge are unconscious. To judge is to come to a conclusion of something or someone based on an observation, feeling or action etc.. THAT’S IT. It’s very sad to see so many ppl misunderstand the Word. When Yahshua said thou shall not judge he was referring to unrighteous judgement (hypocritical, false and hateful) If you want proof, just read the rest of the chapter like you’re supposed to. There are many other verses in the bible that speak in favor of judging. 1 Chor. 5 instructs the righteous on how they should judge. “He that is spiritual judges all things” (1 Chor 2:15). So please please please, let us take time to read our bibles and not just use the verses that help us defend ourselves. We are much more intelligent than that. Thank You

That said, I don’t see nothing wrong with people going to church and still living their life.

I don’t suscribe to any religion but I am open-minded enough to know that church is good. Its an opportunity to congregate, do positive things, reflect on your life, be a family, self-development and all these things.

Going to church is all good. I don’t see why I can’t go a jam on Saturday night and still go hear the Word on Sunday morning.

What i can’t stand is the dirty hypocrites who pretend to be committed to living a Christian lifestyle and they living a life of sin.

I have more respect for a man that will tell me straight he living his life than a man dat pretending to be a Christian and his private lifestyle worse than mine.

People make christianity look like a pie in d sky. Just accept christ as your lord and saviour, get baptised in water and with the holy ghost and try to live your life right. It is not about going to church but rather living a christ like life. Ghandi sonce said “i like your christ but i do not like your christians because they are so unlike your christ”.

    Think about that

One problem I have is the part of being quiet n climbing walls. Every man wants a lady in the street but a freak in the sheets. So because I climbing walls for my man/husband I cannot be quiet on the road? That’s the misconception Dominicans have n it sucks. We too like to call woman underneath

Those who refer to the Christian Bible as the “good book” or the “word of god” are presumed to be referring to the New Testament; for the Old testament has little to do with religious morality; yet if Jesus Christ were to hasten his return,He would be unable to identify Christianity as it is practised today.

It is most regrettable that other holy scriptures are considered to be of lesser moral worth and consequently neither read nor quoted by the responders to this timely article. Should one choose to expand his spiritual horizon and become a seeker of truth, he would eventually conclude that God has little interest in our narrow, sordid, trivial escapades. Organized religion is business and power, and we are taxed by both government and the church.

The priest or preacher has no inclination to advise that you search deep within you for the sense of goodness that is a small part of the Universal Consciousness; for you would have no need to make your weekly contributions to his welfare.

As Christians we do not consider any of the so call “great world religons” to be equal to Christianity. Neither do we put any of their scriptures on par with the Bible. The Lord Jesus said, “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (St. John 14:6) The religious systems of this world cannot be compared – they can only be contrasted – to Christianity. (1) Christianity is God coming down to man. The world religions are man supposedly reaching up to God. (2) The religions of the world tell man what to DO to come into a right relationship with God. Christianity tells us what Christ has DONE (by His death on the cross) to reconcile us to God. The salvation that comes through Christ is a gift to be received by faith apart from our own merit or human works. (3) The religions of the world offer us no credible proof for their claims. Christ said he came from God and He was the only way to God. He promised salvation to all who believe in Him. He said, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (St. John 3:16) How can we trust what He said? Let me tell you how! Christ also prophesied (predicted) His own death and resurrection. Tell me now, what other founder of a great world religion ever did this? On the morning of the third day when He stepped out of that tomb HE VALIDATED ALL HIS CLAIMS including His claim that He was the only Saviour! I invite you to visit my website http://www.livinghopeministries.ca and click onto SERMONS. Listen to my sermon entitled MANY INFALLIBLE PROOFS. In it I will share with you the evidence for the resurrection of Christ. I will acually give you the names of several modern lawyers who have said the evidence would stand up in a modern court of law. One of these men was NOT a Christian when he began to research the resurrection story. What he found converted him to Biblical Christianity. Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

Interesting topic of conversation! I like the fact that it stated nice guy is an a**hole and have issues.
However, let me say that NO ONE is perfect, and as such we are all created in God’s image and likeness. “He that hath no sin cast the first stone”; and no one dare do such, becoz we are ALL sinners in one area or another!
Damn it, no religion has all the teachings, so stop trying to pinpoint which is better. For all you kno, they all branched off from one.
Before we judge anything or anyone, we should do a rain check first!! There’s a reason why the world was not made perfect!

Stop seeing the wrongs of what other people are doing, they can’t hide from God

  22. Waitukubuli
    February 19, 2010

Ellen Paul and Saddened, i concur with your posts. I must say though, there is no such thing as a “true Christian” either you are or you are not. It is true as mentioned, one’s decision to accept Christ as his/her savior should not be contingent upon others’ behavior. Jesus did NOT establish religion on this earth HE came to make way for RELATIONSHIP with HIM. So (NICE GUY) a personal relationship is what HE is looking for – spiritual connection (in Spirit and truth). When one develops the relationship in spirit and truth it will is manifested on the outward. When you face Christ on that day your excuse for not knowing him cannot be base on the behavior of other people.

Going to church alone does not justify one’s relationship with CHRIST- it is the attitude of the heart. Many use that (going to church) as a cloak to cover their “not so good behavior but as GOD said, “I do not see as man do, man see the outward but I search the heart” so no one fools GOD. So everyone ought to develop a PERSONAL relationship with JESUS in Spirit and TRUTH – when you start spending time in the presence of GOD your love for HIM grows and you increase in HIS knowledge and that is also manifested on the outward. People will perceive that “you have been with JESUS” as did the people in the days of the apostle peter.

Show me your company and i will tell you who you are ( just keep “hanging out” with JESUS and you will start thinking and behaving like HIM) operating in pure love towards all people and towards GOD.

YES it is wrong to participate in carnival – rolling and jumping up to all sorts of music that does not glorify GOD but promotes violence and other sinful behavior. The whole point of you as follower of CHRIST is to worship your FATHER in HEAVEN and to bring HIM glory – carnival is paganism, being cultural does not make it “right”. In everything you have to bring HIM glory –

For eg. i also know of many who attend church who came from a traditional voodoo background which they also consider “cultural” and yet they continue to practice it. To them it is only “cultural” – does that make it right? No. There are many things cultural that are not of GOD and those who are followers of Christ will not even contemplate participating in those- (i am talking about followers in heart, not just outward).

However, with that said, we are truly in no position to judge anyone whether gay, whether murderer, whether liar, whether adulterer, whether thief – Jesus said that He did not come to condemn the world, but that through HIM the world might be saved. And HE said to HIS followers “As my FATHER sent me so I also send you”. What does that say? He is in essence saying, i am sending you to “save” not to condemn. For the son came to give life and whoever has the son has life – so go and give life, not death.

So, I would like to caution followers of Christ to please do not go around telling people that they are going to hell because you think that you have arrived, and that the grace of GOD abounds for you only – that is not a true representation of JESUS CHRIST. Because when you tell people they are going to hell you are playing judge and sentencing them- who gave you that right?

YES, there is a hell and people need to know that, but your job is not to send them there but to to show them the way out of it. That is what JESUS sent US to do. Not to condemn because those who do not believe are already condemned (He said). So go and “release” them through LOVE preaching CHRIST CRUCIFIED. The only way is through JESUS CHRIST who came to SAVE –
HIS LOVE covers all sins! So let us operate ( walk in) the love of Jesus Christ towards ALL people. Let us be compassionate to all, bearing in mind that HIS will is that NO ONE perishes but that ALL receive life.

Be blessed in the LORD, ALL.

Aa Mr Nice Guy, first off, I find you too judgemental on people, that alone is a sin!

Second of all, yes carnival is black people culture. Why when is our culture it sinful and when is the white man culture, it good? I love my carnival and yes I love my Triple K “wood dem, wood dem” because no matter how much dance I dance behind the truck, i know a lot of the so called Christian Sisters going to camp on Monday/Tuesday and doing all sorts of immoral things at the camp. I dancing to the rhythm and not the words, they could be saying abc and the rhythm tight, I dere. I don’t drink and I don’t fornicate. So let’s compare sin for sin.

Worst, them christians that camping for the two days, and having sex etc. they lying to hide their sins (which is another sin). To be honest, I doubt there are any good “Christians” (i.e. non catholics out there anymoer). All those I know have child, throw child, checking married man, fornicating etc. So puh-lease! I will remain a catholic and at least not be hypocritical about my sins.

    Praise the Lord,To Nice Guy,
This is one of the most brilliant article you have written, but I will add some more, like they keep saying they are Christians and their Children are living at their homes with their Man/women and they are not married.
They say they are Christians for twenty five years and they have been married for twenty years and their husbands are not Christian, and they talk about how much they love their husbands,(if you love him that much why don’t you take or invite him to Church with you on Sundays,so that they might give Christ their life)
They call them selfs Christians and their sixteen year old daughters are on the street all night, while they are in bed sleeping, etc, etc.
Nice Guy,I’m hoping and praying that one day you give Christ your life, and one more thing write a few more articles like that so the hypocrites will know that they are fakes, and that goes to Priests,Pastors
and all the hypocrites that are calling them selfs Children of God,you can not ride the fence. You have to take a side or you are all going to burn in hell, this one is for the Priests and Pastors, you can take it any way you want.
Nice Guy,everything you have written from the first word to the last is the truth.Love and best wishes to you.hope to see some more articles like that again.Jah bless.website,http://rawlinspacquette.weebly.com

Pastor Rawis: “Preach the Word; be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (2 Timothy 4:2-4) Never before in history has there been a greater responsibility upon those who are appointed by God to shepherd His people than in these days. I am an evangelist based in Canada who ministers internationally and have made five trips into the Caribbean. However, I will only speak of what I see in Canada (on my own doorstep). Thank God we still have dedicated godly pastors. But I see some “career” pastors who do what is politically expedient. They compromise the historic doctrines and high moral standards of our church to attract and keep newcomers. Their churches grow. But it is a “mixed multitude” that swells their membership. Eventually worldly minded people with no zeal for God worm their way into positions of authority in the church. It is no surprise when some of the churches no longer have a midweek prayer meeting of Bible study. Then they stop having evangelistic meetings and revivals. Their prayer rooms are empty. Their altars are barren. Such churches are no longer salt and light in a decaying and dark society speaking our against evil and effecting change. To pastors everywhere I say, “Don’t let it happen. Rekindle the flame if it is burning low. Keep the fires of revival burning.” Pastor, you are special to the Lord. The Revelation calls you “the angel of the church.” You are one of the stars He holds in His right hand! “And when the chief shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” (1 Peter 5:4) Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

A true christian, is born in sin and is expected to err or sin at times. Its our nature. The good book says so. But when one calls himself a true christian and tries to point fingers at others for doing certain things whereas he does a bunch of things himself, that one’s a hypocrite. Like saying that a man and a woman should not be living together un married. Why make that statement when you are gay? or you Lie regularly? Drugs? Alchohol? Stealing? Steal from your employers time? Fraud? Have so many women?

The laws of the bible are str8. There’s no 2 ways about it. Remember the straw and rafter example Jesus spoke about? yes. Some of us like pointing fingers at others but we are the ones who need direction most. I like this article. I think in this nation, everyone needs to look at theirselves and do the right thing!

And what is the right thing? Go read your bibles. If you call yourself a man/woman of God, den ask yourself if whatever you do on a day to day basis, if God is pleased about it. Is he?

Question. So many persons are part different religions. I’m not singling any group particularly. i’m just drawing a reference. So many persons go to church. They sing and pray. They constitute theirselves as true christians. Yea? How many people who attend church were in Carnival Jumping up? Jouvez? How many? If you Love God, and you call yourself a godly person, then you have to follow the bible and live accordingly. Talking about the bible, how many times does some religions open their bible and read scriptures?

I attended Neil Karam’s Funeral. And not ONCE!!!!!! Did the priest say lets turn to corinthians, or Matthew, or Revelation. You know what some of those scriptures have in them? They give comfort and hope to those who Grieve. True Christians? Not using the bible in a sermon? ahhhh na!

Anyways on the real, If you call yourself a true christian, you have to live in accordance with the pre requisites set out for true christians. No Smoking – defilement of the body. No excessive drinking – alcoholics. No Homosexuality – No funication. Sex B4 Marriage Period! No Fraud, Stealing, Deliberate Lying, etc etc etc. Talk about Hypocracy? It Starts with you my friends. Examine yourself b4 pointing fingers.

Sadly some of us fall on the way side. For the true christians who strive to do what is RIGHT, god is forgiving. He does allow you to change when you do wrong. But there is a limit to his forgiveness.

    Gr8 Article Nice Guy!

This is a rubbish article. judge not less ye be judged i say. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with jumping up for carnival or jouvert. The rhythms are pulsating because we are from African Ancestry. If such is the case… our culture, which includes carnival is ungodly. However, i do admit that the lyrical content of alot of the music produced today is goin overboard. Still, we have danced the way we do decades before “wood dem wood dem” was ever thought of. its not the music but our personalities that allow us to express ourselves in this manner. NONE IS PERFECT. In addition you speak about particular people doing particular things in a negative manner like they should be condemned, yet u dont see anything wrong with judging others. Dont worry about what other people do or if they are right or wrong or christian or not. worry about urself.

Some church people seem to think that because the music and dance in the carnival has African roots and is part of their culture it is O.K. for them to participate. I am of British descent with Anglo-Saxon roots in England that go back further than I can trace. But I am not responsible for the sins of my ancestors. There are things in our history we are ashamed of: things that literally make us cringe. Ì will thank God for the good in our heritage and carry it forward. But I refuse to be a party to the cruel injustices and blots of immorality that stain the British page. You people think you have a heritage and a culture. Let me tell you about mine. Far back, my ancestors were Drudes. The Drudes were a religion of witchcraft. The ultimate witchcraft. They practiced human sacrifices and had a priesthood. They sang and danced. They chanted. What a hertitage! But no British Christian today is stupit enough to celebrate that kind of “culture”. There is a modern version of Druidism in England minus the human sacrifices. But born again people are not part of it. The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away; behold all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) We have to know what things belong to the old life and say, “That’s not for me. I’m a new person now.” Otherwise, we cannot be a happy and victorious believer, and our lives become a stumbling block to others. i appreciate this message as it gives me the opportunity as a Christian to really examine my life. there are a few things that i need to bring to your attention, there’s a difference between a “church goer” and a “christian”. we often get ourselves confused with these two words. another is that as Christians we should not be stumbling blocks, however, as human beings we should not look on any man but on Christ Jesus, for when we look on man we will fall or lose our salvation. we also need to remember that we are not perfect and Christ’s mission is to save a sinful race. Don’t get me wrong, as this isn’t a passport to do wrong. Let us pray for each other so we can be more like Christ.

Keep on trusting in our God and thanks for the message where we all need a reality check once in a while.

What Good Guy is saying is that he knows many people who profess to be Christians and go to church but there is absolutely no difference between the way they live and the way the non-Christian unchurched people of the world live. He is using this as an excuse for not becoming a Christian. The real reason is something quite different and has nothing to do with hypocrites in the churches. However, you are right! A church goer is not always a Christian. Unfortunately, there are people attending Christian churches who (a) think they are Christians for any number of reasons but have never had a genuine born again experence. They may go because (a) it gives them an air of respectability, (b) to please their parents or spouses to keep peace in the family, (c) to please friends to extract favours from them, (d) because it is good for business, (e) because their friends go, (f) because they enjoy the music, or (g) because they mistakenly think going to church makes them a Christian and will get them into heaven. Botton line: There are people attending churches who are NOT Christians even though they may think they are, and may invite others to church! Unfortunately, because they have NOT been born again (John 3:3) their lives have not been changed (2 Corinthians 5:17) and outside the church Nice Guy does not see any difference in the way they live. Here is something else that needs to be understood. There are two types of Christians. (1) Those who have made Jesus LORD of their lives. They live under His rule. They seek to please Him in all they do. These believers will usually stay away from activities that don’t glorify God. (2) Those who are satisfied just to be “saved”. They think as long as they “make it” into heaven at last that is all they have to think about. These believers don’t understand that there are blessings in this life reserved for those Christians to put God first in all things (Matthew 6:33), and at the final judgment of God’s people there will be additional rewards (crowns) given for special service that has been rendered on earth. (1 Corinthians 3:13-15) Nice Guy like many others has been looking at the wrong people for an example of what Christians should be. When he stands before God at the judgment God is not going to say, “What do you think of the Christians?” OR “What do you think of the church?” God is only going to ask one question. He is going to say, “WHAT DID YOU DO WITH JESUS CHRIST, MY BELOVED SON?” Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Pentecostal Evangelist.

This article though humorous has alot to think about. It is one that would cause us to to do some deep soul searching. To all the readers of this article, do not worsen a situation by trying to get personal and critical. Take it for what it is and see where you are weak and work on it. To the author i say, may God bless you and use you to do his work here on earth. Salvation is personal. Allow no one or nothing to come between you and God.

  29. Salvation is personal
    February 19, 2010

Interesting article yes, but absolutely no reason to live your life base on how others behave. the bible says salvation is personal, every man must fight out his own salvation with fear and trembling. Even if a person is living a life contrary to the word of God, this does not mean that they should not minister the word to you because the bible also says many will lead people to God but will end up losing their own life. I know a lot of people going to be happy about this article because they are just looking for excuses why they should not give their life to Christ and this is just a plan of the devil to keep them bound so lets be wise and not look on the life other people live, but let us all examin ourselves and make our wrong right before it is too late. Remember, when we reach before God, it will not be anything about how someone else live their life but your account will be how you lived your life.

BOOM! I can relate to that…BUT, I will still say everyone need to check themselves….so this whole article is still hypocrisy….not because the so called Christians falling by the way side, doesn’t justify you doing non-ethical or Christian like things.
