The “Dream-Team,” a non-profit youth-based organization, under the umbrella of the Deliverance Baptiste Church in Goodwill, presents what the group says is another thought provoking, inspirational and humorous drama production.
Writer and assistant director, Peter Panthier, describes the production “Pointing Fingers” as one of the group’s best play ever. According to him, his inspiration for writing this play came from the song “Jesus Friend of Sinners” by Casting Crowns.
“Very often we castigate people in the name of Jesus, without thinking about the circumstances or even reaching out to offer help. That is, our attitude may be “a better than thou” one. But Jesus, who is perfect on earth, treated sinners with love. He hated the sin but loved the sinner.”
He added that although the play is hilarious, it draws from everyday situations and brings forth a serious message.
“Pointing Fingers” is being staged in an effort to raise fund for the upcoming Caribbean Baptist Youth Festival carded for the 23rd Dominica. The festival will bring together hundreds of young people from the Caribbean and the United States. Proceeds from the show will go directly into the ground work leading up to the festival.
The play will be staged on the 17th and 19th, January 2014 at the Arawak House of Culture from 8pm.
