Too many churches in politicians’ pockets

Grace, mercy and peace from God through his son Jesus Christ.

Today there are too many churches not doing what God send them to do. They have become puppets to so many politicians. God didn’t send pastors to kiss nobody’s behind but to preach the good news to the world.

Some of them let politicians, who have never attended their churches in years, to attend service when election is approaching and tell their congregation how good they are, and what they will do for them, knowing that most politicians are crooks.  I said MOST POLITICIANS.

They become enemies with other pastors because of politics. God didn’t send you guys to lick boot. Some of these politicians’ tongues are as black as their hearts.  Why do you pastors want to please this clowns instead of GOD? If you want to be a politician leave the church and go into politics.

God doesn’t need PUPPETS. He needs men/women that are respecter of persons because respect of person is a sin with God. We cannot have it both ways. It’s God or the devil, make your choice.

May God keep blessing Dominica always.

Big example. Im sure I was not the only one who witnessed a pastor stop a woman from praying in a particular well known church in Goodwill on the so called ‘National Day of Prayer” when she started praying about leaders dabbing in occult for possessions. lol! lol! the “famous” pastor actually walked up to the lady whispered in her ear and before you know it she said”in jesus name” and the prayer end. hehehehe! well it was carried live for viewing on the internet. Wosh look kixx in that country. Who do these pastors think they are

Don’t you think the members of a congregation should be smart. When you pastor is wealthier than you and he does not have a 9-5 job you should leave the church.
You should check your pastor out like you are about to buy a car. Check his outfit.
Dominica has a good example the one from vielle case. Some pastors are lazy individuals who prey on unintelligent people.

There is this man from my village who took a loan to build his house. His church was being rebuilt. He took a lump sum of that money and gave to the church. The pastor neither the committee did not inform him that this was wrong. The house was never finished and the committee of the church build their houses.

    @RIVERS:

I am a Catholic Christian and proud to be one. I do not support your theory about Priests and have no idea where you got this information. I have never known a Priest who worked for an exorbitant salary and for fame. They are actually the poorest people.
Residing in Dominica how well-off and well-to-do these priests could be?
If you know what priests are paid, you may never want to consider being a Priest unless your aim is to genuinely love and serve the Lord and His people.
Priests do not reside in lavish homes and have lavish cars and dress in the most modern style, fit to be a king.
I reside in Toronto. Every year a statement of the expenses of the parish is printed and placed in the church bulletin for all parishioners to read. Their salaries are nothing to speak about. I could not live on their salary. Furthermore, the Priests do not seek popularity, fame and fortune.
When a Priest is transferred from one parish to another, all they take with them is their menial personal belongings as their clothes and books.
If today Priests in Dominica support politicians, they are totally wrong and this should cease. They are serving God and His people and should not be in the business of promoting politicians and their agenda. Priests are to stay out of this. They should exercise neutrality.
The City of Toronto has three elections, federal, provincial and municipal which take place at intervals, every four years. Federal for all of Canada; provincial for an individual province and municipal for individual cities. The latter two are responsible for the affairs of their designated areas.
Whenever there is an election, parishioners are cautioned “to vote wisely”. This is the only advice that they are given from the pulpits by Priests.
I reiterate that if D/can Priests are involved in politics as you stated, if you are a Catholic Christian, this should be taken up with the Hierarchy or the Superior of the Diocese. Take this from me who am a fervent practicing Catholic and who loves my Church and its devotions.

I am a member of a christian church- i am a christian, but i must say many of the comments are so very true. Most of our Pastors and church leaders have been bought, and thats a FACT . Our Pastors and leaders have LOST THEIR WAY ! FOR WHAT ? For thirty pieces of silver ? My question will always be- what is it that the POLITICIANS can give you, that your Heavenly Father cannot provide for you ? ?

I think it is high time that people get serious about pastors and hold them accountable for their actions and if need be remove them from the leadership of the church .Too often we see pastors
who pretend to be holier than jesus but are really hypocrites hiding behind the veil of christianity .
They prey on gullible people that attend their church who contribute huge sums of money collectivly .Those unscrupulous FALSE PRETENDERS so called pastors contnue unabated to syphone money from the coffers of the church in the name of jesus .The voracity, the dishonesty,
and the wanton desire to enrich themselves at the expense of those gullible people. while you all
there contributing , pastors there calculating ; MONEY ASIDE FOR S.U.V AND MANSIONS BIGGER THAN YOU OR ME.
Wake up my people ask your pastor questions and demand answers on how money donated to the church and collected by the church is being spent.DONT BE AFRAID BECAUSE YOU ARE CONTRIBUTING AND IT IS YOUR RIGHT TO KNOW.It may not go down well with them and they may try to suppress you but then who cares.
Those so called hypocrite pastors dabble in the occult, commit adultery, steal, lie and grudge people for speaking the truth and yet they continue to pretend that they are holier than jesus.
Personally i have absolutely no problems in paying a pastor a monthly salary be it $5000 or what the case may be but when they can no longer continue to be trustworthy and truthfull then it is time to remove them from the leadership of the church and appoint someone who can concentrate on the things of god and not earthly treasures.
    One must understand the reasons why those currupt pastors cannot exorcise demons and it is simple, they are not being favored by god . OH YE HYPOCRITES ;OH YE OF LITTLE FAITH;
FALSE PRETENDERS ; JUDGEMENT WILL SOON COME ON YOU.

TRUE ! TRUE! TRUE! THEY ARE THE MOST DECEITFUL PEOPLE IN OUR CHURCHES . THEIR ONE AND ONLY GOAL IS TO GET WEALTHY . THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR STATUS IN SOCIETY THAN WINNING THE LOSS FOR CHRIST. SALVATION IS NO LONGER PREACHED IN OUR CHURCHES ANYMORE HOWEVER PROSPERITY IS NOW THE BACKBONE OF TODAY’S CHURCHES. PASTORS HAVE BECOME VERY COMPETITIVE WITH OTHERS AND ARE ON A GET RICH QUICK SCAM. THESE SO CALLED SERVANTS OF GOD” SNAKES ” ARE THE REASON WHY CHURCHES ARE BECOMING EMPTIER EVERY SUNDAY. ITS HIGH TIME THAT EVERY PASTOR DO A SELF EVALUATION AND REALIZE THEIR PURPOSE AND CALLING.IM IN NO WAY AGAINST PROSPERITY ,HOWEVER IT SHOULD NOT BE REALIZED THRU ILL GAIN MANY MEMBERS OF THESE CHURCHES DONT KNOW WHERE THEIR NEXT MEAL IS COMING FROM HOWEVER THEIR PASTORS ARE DEMANDING LARGE SUMS OF MONEY AS BIRTHDAY GIFTS. SHAME ON THESE MEN. WHERE ARE YOUR PRIORITIES

Today we see too many men wanting to become Pastors or Priests just for the money and fame and not to preach what is right and talk against ills in society.

So I am not too supriesed when men who are supposed to preach the Word of God allow low class politicians to buy them for the short sighted benefits.

Shame on all these so-called Godly Men. It is time to call them out.

MLK, said that when those in position seat silently and say nothing about the evils in soicety, they are just as culpable as the evil ones.

    October 14, 2010

Well well. I listened to the announcements on DBS and heard that my church will be organizing a march against violence on. I laughed then I called a sister and she said said she is not going. My church had members behind this administration more than they would support the church’s own programmes. My church voted en masse for this administration, helped to establish crime in Dominica and now they marching against it? Laughable. The same ones organizing the march were all ready for the next level.

Remember, God is not mocked whatsoever a man sows he will reap. If we sow to the wind, we will reap the whirlwind. Some churches accepted money (origin???) from this administration. Let us not forget that crime is crime regardless of who does it and wrong is wrong irrespective of who is the perpetrator but i firmly believe that some of us have lost the ‘only one God’ principle and have set up gods who cannot help us in times of trouble.

It is indeed a sad day for churches in Dominica.

Pastor, if you were close to me, I would shake your hands. These are my sentiments exactly and this is what I called for after the spate of murders in our country. It was so glaring that pastors have been bought. They have forgotten their role in society and their call to God. They have allowed politics to side track them. They have turned a blind eye on the ills of society so they can please politicians. We have seen what happens during church services when elections are near. Pastors and priests make special prayers for certain officials. These politicians come and sit in front pews smiling like the hypocrites they are. The pastors say nothing. I welcome your comment. It is so true.

I support your point of view 1000%. I ‘d like to make particular reference to the Bubbles case. Can the people of god and the Christians support the Pastor’s reaction or his willingness to file an appeal on behalf of Bubbles who clearly admitted to wilding a hand gun in threatening manner. Jesus must be pissed off – maybe flinging chairs all over the place (like Bobby Knight). Why isn’t the pastor standing at the court waiting to file an appeal every time some young kid get sent to jail for a minor offense. Instead of being so politically engulfed the pastor should be doing the work of god – maybe using his village alliance to influence positive changes.

Pastors like BJ is typical example and or reason why so many people stay away from religion and the church. The priests are no different. I know of one priest who fired a worker only because she supported UWP – isn’t that a total sham and misrepresentation of Christianity.

I resign to my belief that money is our god. We are all motivated by one thing only- wealth. If church and religion is not about money then why it is that pastors /priests become kiss a******** of politicians. The answer to this question is obvious. If a pastor demand that his congregation provide him with sums of money for expensive trips etc that makes me question the sincerity of the pastor; when a religious leader import goods in the name of the church when the goods are actually for his private mansion why should I be mistrusting of religion.
