A lash at Anglican denomination for criticisms leveled against Catholic Church

By Paul Kokoski

Dear Editor: I find it rich that Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, would attempt to discredit the Catholic Church over its dealing with pedophilia priests in Ireland. Where the Catholic church is trying to weed out vice among the clergy the Anglican denomination is accepting it in spades as part of their teaching.

In fact, the Anglican denomination of Christianity is over. Like Judas they have sold out to modernity by including  openly homosexual bishops among their ranks. Studies prove that there is a close link between pedophilia and homosexual erotic development. Indeed their severance from truth first began at their inception when they decided to break with the Catholic Church and go off on their own. Their foreseen downfall is now coming to fruition as an increasing number of orthodox Anglicans are retracing their spiritual steps and returning to Rome.

Unlike the Pope who has supreme power over the Catholic Church, Rowan Williams is nothing more than a figurehead for Anglicans. He will not be able to stem the tide of spiritual poison that has infected the Anglican Hierarchy.

I encourage Anglican traditionalists and others – including atheists and dissenting Catholics – tossed about by the waves of false doctrines to climb aboard the barque of Peter for it will be their only safe haven in these troubling times.

Paul Kokoski is a resident and native of Canada and an avid reader of DNO.

    @deecee:

    Your politicians have not been able to fix the problems of the country. Ask them why they cannot fix the problems of their country of which they are head.
    Look to yourself. What are you doing to help fix the problem of so many years and counting? are you a Catholic Christian? Or are you a Christian of a certain denomination?
    God wants our prayers. He wants our worship and obedience. How many are truly fervent Christians, obeying God’s Ten Commandments and who are practicing their faith, faithfully? This is where the problem lies “why problems are not fixed” because Christians of all are not doing what they are supposed to be doing.
    The next time you criticize the Pope and speak disdainfully about him, think of what you are doing for God, for yourself, to save your soul and that of others whom you especially know and to help God to save the world that more souls will not perish in Satan’s cauldron of everlasting fire. May God bless, grace you and inspire you with spiritual enlightenment.

    @Anonymous:

    What nonsense are you talking about? Does your boss not have power over you? The Pope does not want to have power over anyone.
    There are some people because of their piety and faithfulness to God, their prayers are more powerful in the eyes of God. Think of that.
    The Pope is the Head of the Catholic Church and he is to be recognized as such. If you are not a Catholic Christian, keep quiet about the Pope and his position in the Catholic Church. It is the Pope’s duty to lead the flock whom he is responsible for, namely the Catholic Church. In fact, every Christian has a duty to God, to lead souls to God. What are you doing about that?
    Imagine a church without a head; without someone at the helm. Imagine a home without parents as the head. Imagine a business without a head. Consider what chaos would ensue. Children would have no direction, bad enough as it is that they have parents and some have no direction. Employees would have no one to direct them. What a mess this would be.
    The Catholic Church is within its right to have a Head and he is The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI. He will be Head of the Catholic Church until he either becomes too sick or he dies when God will call him home. In the interim, we Catholics are to respect him and support him as the Hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Those who are obedient are also obedient to God. Amen!

    @da:

    We Catholics are not disputing that the Pope has to answer to Our Lord Jesus Christ, our King and Saviour. Everyone who has ever lived on this earth and those who will be born and live on this earth until Judgment Day will answer to Our Lord Jesus Christ for what they have done and failed to do. For God so loved the world that He sent His Only Son to live, teach, suffer and die, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. However, there is a condition for obtaining everlasting life. Our Lord Jesus Christ said those who obey His (our) Heavenly Father’s Will, will enter His Heavenly Kingdom. Make no mistake about that.
    The Pope is the Head of the Catholic Church. Parents are head of their homes and of their children. Employers are head of their business establishments. There is always a head of this and a head of that. Those who are subordinate to others must obey them. Therefore, what is your problem?

    @read your bible!:

    Professed atheist: Strange you call yourself an atheist and appear to be a proud one which is absolutely nothing to be proud of. Strange too, that you read Holy Scriptures. I wonder why? This is not something atheists and agnostics do. The Holy Spirit is guiding you so that you will, one day return to Christianity and its practices for the good of your immortal soul.
    When did you decide to become an atheist and under what circumstances? In other words, what caused you to be an atheist, to reject Our Lord Jesus Christ? Surely, this is not what God wants for you. He wants you to come to your senses, repent, make restitution in the form of prayer, penance and sacrifice and to save your soul lest you perish in Satan’s cauldron of everlasting fire.
    Cease calling Christians hypocrites. It takes one to know one, eh.
    I have eaten lobster in my land of birth, Dominica and I love eating lobster. It is a delicacy in this part of the world, Toronto and is expensive. I just acccumulated some lobster recipes which appear delicious and I cannot wait to try them.
    I do think that you do not know anything and you are in no position to inform Christians that they should not eat lobster. There is nothing wrong with lobster. It is edible. Have you ever seen the size of a lobster? I am certain that God created lobster for our purpose and that he approves of it, that we should eat it. All other animals, ate in the first place. I did not have to go to Leviticus to know that since I was a child to today. I reiterate that we Christians just do not eat them because they are not edible. God ordains all to be.

    @Salop:

    The Archbishop of Canterbury should know the history of the Anglican Church and how it came about with Henry VIII.
    Henry VIII married Catherine of Aragon of Spain. He later imprisoned her where she died. He wanted to divorce her and went to the Pope in Rome to get dispensation of his marriage vows. The Pope refused to grant his request. He got so angry with the Pope that he broke away from the Catholic Church and formed the Anglican Church. He had all the Catholic statues in Great Britain desecrated. The only thing that Henry VIII kept was the Holy Mass which is the reason today the Mass is celebrated in the Anglican Church. God did not give Henry VIII the mandate to celebrate the Holy Mass. He did not give it to the Anglican Church.
    Those who opposed Henry VIII as Sir Thomas Morre and John Fisher who said that “they rather serve their God”, he beheaded them.
    During his life, Henry VIII married and married over and over again and beheaded some of his wives. He had approximately 11 wives as I read in a book: “The Wives of Henry VIII”. I also read a book about his life. I concluded that he was one mad man but sane enough to do what he did.
    When I heard about what the Archbishop of Canterbury stated about the Catholic Church, namely the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, I thought that this Archbishop should look to the history of his church and shut up his mouth. He should be ashamed of how the Anglican Church came about.
    I wanted to respond to his statements to a local TV station in Toronto where I reside but was just too busy at that time to do so. I thought that I will get my turn someday to respond.
    Thank you to all of you who support the Catholic Church and in Its trial of what it has been undergoing today as you hear through the Media. It is a trial and a sort of persecution. Its faithful members are praying. God is in control and is taking care of His Church. He will not allow it to fall no matter what. God will surely bless you for that.
    Today, many Anglicans have left this church and are entering into the Catholic Church, some as Priests. Yes! Soon the Anglican church will be naught. Our patient God who knows, sees and hears all things and who is not deceived, whom nothing is hidden from and nothing escapes Him arranges all things. Praise be to God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit. Amen!
    God bless Dominica and its people where we may be. May He protect us all from all sorts of dangers.
    A dear Catholic, holy and saintly man, the late U.S. Archbishop Fulton Sheen said: “Before God cleanses the world, He will first cleanse His Church.” It makes good sense to me. This is exactly what is occurring in the Catholic Church”, to weed out un-faithful Catholics who have embarrassed It by their ungodly deeds and caused much grief to the Catholic Hierarchy and the laity and also much expense. Catholics of all who are also inspired will comprehend that; likewise others.

    Good luck to you atheist. On the inevitable day, I would love to see your reaction and the expression on your face when you stand before God for your eternal judgment and Our Lord Jesus Christ says: “Amen! Amen! I do not know you. Depart from Me. Ye cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
    Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “Those who acknowledge Me before all people I will acknowledge him before My Father who is in Heaven.” And, “Who is ashamed of Me and My Word, I will be ashamed of him when I return in My glory with My holy angels.”

    According to the bible:

    >homosexuality is a sin
    (“do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.” ~ Leviticus 18:22)

    >eating lobster (among many other creatures) is a sin
    (“of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales. But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales – whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water – you are to detest. And since you are to detest them, you must not eat their meat and you must detest their carcasses. anything living in the water that does not have fins and scales is to be detestable to you.” ~ Leviticus 11:9-12)

    Both carry the SAME weight! DEATH!

    Peace! Christian Hypocrites!

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/libertycentral/2010/apr/02/pope-legal-immunity-international-law

    Well may the pope defy “the petty gossip of dominant opinion”. But the Holy See can no longer ignore international law, which now counts the widespread or systematic sexual abuse of children as a crime against humanity. The anomalous claim of the Vatican to be a state – and of the pope to be a head of state and hence immune from legal action – cannot stand up to scrutiny.

    The truly shocking finding of Judge Murphy’s commission in Ireland was not merely that sexual abuse was “endemic” in boys’ institutions but that the church hierarchy protected the perpetrators and, despite knowledge of their propensity to reoffend, allowed them to take up new positions teaching other children after their victims had been sworn to secrecy.

    This conduct, of course, amounted to the criminal offence of aiding and abetting sex with minors. In legal actions against Catholic archdioceses in the US it has been alleged that the same conduct reflected Vatican policy as approved by Cardinal Ratzinger (as the pope then was) as late as November 2002. Sexual assaults were regarded as sins that were subject to church tribunals, and guilty priests were sent on a “pious pilgrimage” while oaths of confidentiality were extracted from their victims.

    The only Sviour is JESUS CHRIST. The pope has to answer to Jesus on the day of judgement too. If any has not given his life to Jesus including the Pope, He had better, cause he will burst hell door wide open if he does not. It does not matter, be it catholic or anglican, Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. He wants to save your soul, give Him the chance to do just that. Jesus saves, He cares!!

    “You are Peter and on this rock (petra) I will build my church”. Orthodox churchs recognize that Dioecesis of Rome is Prima in caritate (first in charity) and according this phrase orthodox and catholic are finding the unity (ut unum sint).
    According the holy bible sodoma, pedophilos, are sins. The chuch that non respect this verba of christ are not catholicae, apostolicae, sanctae, in unitate.

    …t is quite obvious that he is a liar and makes sup statistics. There is no link between pedophila and homosexuality. Infact the studies have always shown and continue to show tha most pedophiles are heterozexual. One does not only need to look at stats they can take an honest look around them. And the child molesters that we know are mainly heterosexuals.

    Secondly the Anglican religion like the catholic religion ( and i am catholic by the way ) both have horrible deeds in their past. The Anglican religion developed under the reign of King Henry the 8th because he wanted to divorce his legititate wife to marry Anne, who he later beheaded cause she could not bear him a son. The catholic church refuced to give him a divorce just like it does today.

    When did Peter die to save humanity, when did Peter create huamanity.? How can the poe save humanity? There is only one safe haven and that is the HOly Spirit, found in the individual. The scripture says we are all children of the Creator. No mention of any pope.Who is peter but another sinner saved by grace of the Lord and Saviour. Salvation is an individual thing. How may people have the Roman catholic church and the inquisition killed to establish it s dominiance in the world.
    The extermination of the Arawaks, the jewish holocust, to name a few, distruction of the Irish.

    I truly agree with the writer of this article.What makes you think that pedophilia is worse than homosexuality.They both are sexual immorality. I am not a catholic but even if there have been reports of pedophilia in the church, it is not something that the church condons as a church. Individual priests are swayed away by their own lust. On the other hand when the Anglican church goes ahead and ordains a priest who puplicly acknowledges that he is a homosexual,that is condoning.

    “Climb aboard the barque of perter for it will be their only safe haven in these troubling times?” What utter disrespect of people intelligence and misleading of the truth of the Word of God!! The only hope for man is JESUS CHRIST. It is not the church you go to or the religion you associate your self with but it is acknowledging that JESUS CHRIST IS LORD AND THE SAVIOR OF THIS WORLD, and being obedient to his commandments and living life to reflect the price he paid on Calvary to redeemed an ungrateful and sinful people.
