LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Post causes concern

The post
The post

Dear Editor,

This post is situated in Rosehill section of Soufriere, St. Mark.

It has been in this condition for several weeks now. Residents have contacted every service provider, yet no one has claimed responsibility.

Observe, there’s no DOMLEC lines on this post. DOMLEC has transferred their lines to a ‘better’ post. So it means, they’re aware of the grave situation that this post  is putting the safety of residents.

It’s the hurricane season and this post should not be in the situation it is, lines are dangling above the road, so much so, curious children can jump and touch them.

We, the residents of Rosehill, Soufriere, are concerned and worried about our safety, and wouldn’t like anyone of us to be injured from a falling post. We’d like the relevant authorities and companies responsible to do something about such hazard.

It is with much appreciation, that we’d like DNO to bring such to the forefront, on  our behalf, since our calls have fallen on deaf ears.

This is not a partisan political question – Where does the Parl rep stand when a constituency is faced with these type of wanton disregard for human life and safety. In small communities like ours one would think that the Parl Rep must know about things like that. Pure madness in our country. Shouls that that pole cause some serious injury or damages to private property we will just accept that it is an accident.
Accountability is seriously lacking in Dominica and until we ALL recognize this deficiency then we shall remain at the bottom of the bos particularly within the Eastern caribbean
