Time to put Soufriere by-election behind us

letter to the editorI am calling on the people of the Soufriere Constituency to put the by-election behind their back and move on as a people of God.

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Miss Denise Charles on her victory at the polls.

I would also like to congratulate Mr. Higgs Adams on his hard work and making himself available to represent the people of the Soufriere Constituency. At the end of the day, there can only be one candidate chosen by the voters.

I am now calling on my people to come together as one and put all politics aside to the development of our Constituency. I am also calling on political leaders of the DLP and UWP to talk to their supporters to bring unity in our constituency. We all have to understand the reality that Parl Reps and Governments will come and go but, we as a people and voters must stay united in order to stop violence and hatred in our communities.

There are so many potentials in the Soufriere Constituency and so many talents as well.

As this time, I am asking newly Parl Rep-elect, Miss Charles, and UWP candidate, Mr. Adams, to be the real leaders in our community by getting together and work for the best interest for the people of Pointe Mitchel, Soufriere, Gallion and Scott’s Head.

I am looking forward to meeting the newly ParRep-electct and Mr. Adams to work with them. I believe people is before politics and I will do whatever I can towards the continuous development of my beloved Constituency and Country.

United we stand stand.

God’s blessings.

So after all you go around cursing people and bribing others and your leader said publicly telll UW P we doh want them in the constituency and we doh want them in Dominica you now have the audacity to say let’s unite let’s forget everything that was done and said. So where you are going to find the people to unite if you do not want them in the constituency. Are you admitting then you all abused and took advantage of the people just to win an election now you all have won we should all forget about it till the next election comes around. Now I understand why Dominica is in trouble.

the best person who should have made a call for reconciliation is the prime minister but instead he took the opportunity to incite hatred against lennox and the uwp.

How many branches his olive tree has anyone knows because the amount of olive branches this guy has offered and has either broken them or pull them back in the process is not funny. But Dominica carpet is loaded with stuff that has been swept under it. So I am wondering whether Dominica carpet can take more stuff. But go ahead continue instead of tackling issues head on and try to bring it to a head the easier thing to do is to sweep under the carpet. all the wrongs associated with the bye elections sweep it under the carpet and let’s move on to the next corrupt act, cho pull!

Please remember that Denise Charles only represents just over a third (38%) of the electorate in her constituency. The rest either voted UWP or ,did not bother to vote at all.
You want us now to lie down, shut up and live by Skerrit’s edicts? Never! There is a lot of frustration and pent-up disagreement in the constituency and that does not bode well for the polticians.

I really wonder why the other 62% did not tell her where to go??
I take it they did not all support the UWP.

Until the philosophy that holds one party superior and another, inferior.
Until one party supporters gets jobs, scholarships, duty free, million dollar contracts, job promotion, etc and another, naught.
Until winning UWP candidates gets a lesser parliamentary salary then losing DLP candidates.
Until bogus positions are created for incompetent party supporters where young educated school leavers get NEP.
Every where is politics me say politics.

Are you trying to say, let the inconsistences and blatant wrong doing continue? You may be a member of an isis type cult and have sold hat affects one affects all and the world at large. See what happened in France, Orlando etc. It’s time for all manner of evil to stop. I know you like sleeping with the devil. But that’s you. So be gone.

Who left you in charge? So because you say it is time to put it behind us, then that is the law?

Sorry my friend, but there can be no unity as long as we have a Prime Minster, who keeps us divided and vilifies the opposition. As long a Skerrit is at the helm there will be no harmony or peace. That is not want I want but that is how it is. He made it so.
