Great job Tammy!
Fantastic work, Tamara. Seems like you used a macro lens.
Incidentally, the caterpillar is called the Frangipani caterpillar, and it usually fees on two groups of plants: Frangipanis (like in the photo), and Allamandas (e.g. “yellow bell”). After “fattening”, the caterpillar later pupates into a wriggling mahogany-brown cocoon, and several days later, a grey hawk moth emerges.(This info was not copied from the net, but from observations)
Really beautiful picture. Commentator, this appears to be a caterpillar with a genus and species name of Pseudophinx tetrio (Tetrio Sphinx). Other names include Frangipani Caterpillar or the Giant Gray Sphinx. Can be found around the caribbean and south florida. Check out this website if you want more detail. http://bugguide.net/node/view/570.
Hope this helps.
