I Love, all photo of the day but really i almost take this one for a big anaconda snake, that scare the hell out of me.
you know as a child… my older siblings used to tease me becaus ei was afraid of it … hahah..
But now that you have become an adult, you love the anaconda?
This water pipe is made of wood. This giant wooden pipe is part of the system wich brings water to the hydro-electric power plant at Padu.
Fairplay
correction…it is not made of wood…the wood was carefully and professionally wrapped around the metal pipes for a number of reasons such as to let it blend in with the surroundings, to protect the pipes from direct impact such as rolling stones and rocks…
I walked on these pipes countless number of times in the Laudat area when I worked as an engineering Technician for Marpin Telecoms servicing microwave repeaters on mount Micotin.
Memorable days
Namich 2008..
You sound so confident as a Marpin Engineering Technician and I think is a representation of the the people who comment here. Make statements like they are facts but are completely wrong.
Let me correct your correction!
This information was given to me by a DOMLEC employee whom I think knows what he was talking about:
This pipeline is actually made of wood and kept in place by the steel bands around them on the outside and the water on the inside. There is no metal on the inside. This nothing new to the Laudat people as they have become used to this type of pipeline since the 1950′s.
The only correct part of your statement is:”it was professionally done”
correction Fairplay: The pipleine is indeed made of wood, specially treated but wood nonetheless. There are some areas with metal inserts, for example at the anchors, and the pipe bands that keep the timber together are steel rings, but the pipe through which the water runs is wooden “Woodstave” and lasts for decades.
That correct Pedro…5 Vertical thumbs up for you!
thank you for clearing that up, cause i realy thought that was a very big snake
Before I opened the photo I would swear say I saw a snack… Nice pic!
