Sadly the days of a few bobbins, some wire and a sardine tin are long past, kids have no spark of ingenuity since they have US tv rammed down their throat. Natural creativity relegated to the opening day of carnival parade. How sad.

I remember the days growing up, my brother and his friends used to make these trucks, and it was their best. They seem to enjoy making them and driving them.

I suppose if he had an expensive remote radio controlled car, like the rich boys, and made overseas ,he would not receive any such negative comments.

There is a little boy in all of us men. I’ve spent over four decades in the motor industry, has qualification as long as your arm, but I found it relaxing and theraputic to build models of trucks, and special vehicles.

I remember when my brothers made their own trucks. Those were the days. We need to bring these things back. That’s a lot of innovation and intuition.
