Assertive, NOT Agressive!
That’s Portsmouth?! Wow!
beautiful, portsmouth is a wonderful part of dominica.
Possie looks nice.
most untidy part of Dominica after Roseau!!! Most dangerous place in Dominica by far now………majority of young kids have gun, in drugs, adopting all the negative attitudes. political rep. is a story by himself, Mayor …………. spiritual leader alleged to be gay-always hanging with the little boys, town just almost in a cloud!! needs God!!
@itassi4us Cheez your heart is so heavy that you cannot even see a nice pic and appreciate? What have you done to help the crisis of which you speak? Where have you volunteered to help? You may even be the cause of all this, take a chill pill. PS Do something for the mess that is Itassi, and stop pretending all is well
Yeah, there and practically everywhere else in the world. What does that have to do with the picture?
your so right to ask that i dont see where that cominig in the pic but thats just the warld it take all kind of people to make it run lol lol just like this one and this are the people that dont do nothing to help but just chat and chat and leave all the work for order people to do but as i say life must go on one love
Something seriously wrong with you.
well, well, Portsmouth looking nice from far. wait till u work the streets…………. up close and personal.
@ yen gui what party u telling me about u think i care about that all am saying is we talked about this in portsmouth from i was born, where man boy saying to put the mariner cant go there every thing is government then at least they put the fisheries there do u know the price of those half dead fish they selling up here in the states. We should be finding a way to sell our fishes out there.
I don’t even live in possie, i’m all the way canefield and me and my friends will just take a bus and go chill possie or i would just drive down me alone just to relax. possie so beautiful and peaceful. damn I just love that place.
First town gorgeous site Roseau will or can’t
Be like that beautyyyyy
THE PM needs to take a close look at POSSIE and stop crying that they dont want him in ROSEAU because the way forward in DA is to develope PORTSMOUTH and make it the main port or town which would benefit all dominicans.
yes thank God we bless ;lovely photo: DA
Sooo agree, Ian needs to wake up and be a man, do what he needs to do. Stop messing around and grow up.
most beautiful place on island!
This picture brings bitter sweet feeling. Portsmouth is undoubtedly the most beautiful part of Dominica and indeed the sleeping giant – the spark to Dominica’s development.
As a son of the town I cannot help reminisce about the days when we could not keep up with the counting of the number of yachts in the harbor. Now I am looking at the white elephant fisheries complex which should have been a yacht mariner that would have produced immediate economic activities for the area. This fisheries complex was donated to Portsmouth during the UW P administration and the project lingered with the current administration. I am saddened by the fact that the government went ahead with a fisheries complex as oppose to the yacht facility.
I know I will get some flack for saying so but until we start having honest discussion and opinions we will forever be looking at such photos thinking what could have been.
@ mang boy u all just like to talk y u dont build your own mariner, boss the mariner would not go on that side any way it would go on bell hall side most palces i know mariners are privately owned.
This is the level of discussion that keep taking us down into the pit misery. Mang Boy is absolutely correct but you chose to chastise him whereas you are not asking any darn sense at all. When people are trying to have reasonable conversation and you have nothing meaningful Tossy it is enter to shut up Thant to confirm your shortcomings. I wonder how many mariners you know – the one kawinage?
The kind of things that people say just to defend a party is laughable – this is really sad.
If a fisheries project is donated ….guess what ? You will not get an airport.
So please ask the fishermen to come together and set up their cooperative, go fish, catch lots of fish and sell fish at reasonable pricing so they can be come prosperous.
This is very simple
The responsibility isn’t just that of Ian, but also more importantly the citizens who reside in Portsmouth day in, day out.
It’s a collective process: Ian as the MP, who was voted in by the citizens of Portsmouth, need to stand up and be counted and push, push and keep pushing for such projects to become fruition.
Other MPs in neighboring villages are making their voices heard and pushing to bring development in their communities to fall in line with the realistic resources available to them.
Ian needs to decide whether he do the gracious thing and step aside for someone else who is willing to give more of their time for the seriousness of developing Portsmouth, or whether he feels trapped between what “family name” means to some as lack of passion can only do a disservice to the potential and possibilities of the area. (The polls are always the best way to kick where it hurts)!
Showed the photo to my work colleagues and they are still gobsmacked, as they cannot believe that area isn’t a licensed “International Marina.”
Come on Possie people even if I am not originally from Portsmouth, I always enjoy chilling out down there when on island with my relatives and friends, so I urge you to put lots of pressure on your MP and move up the chain to DEMAND that such developments are started pronto!
Until Portsmouth people begin to cease the negativity, stop fighting among each other, and focus on making demands and holding Ian accountable for not doing more or pushing viable projects such as the long overdue Marina, (particularly in his capacity as Tourism Minister), sad to say an area with abundance of potential will continue not to soar.
When all is said and done I know you all can do it and realise you’re being short-changed by your MP! If his heart isn’t in it which evident ally it isn’t, then the mature and unselfish gesture would be to step aside and pass the baton the a genuine servant of the people. Public service isn’t for everyone, so nothing to be ashamed of.
Best wishes and I’ll be rooting for you too!

Gosh! What a sight to behold! Lovely…
Stunning!!!
Dominica! is so beautiful thank GOD, for creation.
This is beautiful….good to see Possie from that angle. Ah, my sweet Dominica!
This so cool. Really love this pic. God Bless the North, God bless Dominica.
Somebody needs to take Ian Douglas to a mountain top around Possie and say to him … “Behold my son … this is the source of your power …this is your domain. Do justice to its people and potential”
Alas … only in my dreams would he comprehend the magnitude of this proposition.
You could not have said it better! Portsmouth is so naturally beautiful and there is so much potential…just wish our government ministers could see that and do something. smh
why is Ian and not the people of portsmouth????
A bright day indeed. I love my town. Blessed love to all my Possie people.
Wow, what beauty. Great job Dian, hope all is going well.
