These young people were caught grabbing a game of cricket on the road. The ‘pitch’ was actually uphill. Photo taken in Petite Soufriere.

I remember those days of cricket playing in wire. Sometimes the women’s league would play on a sunday afternoon those were the good old days. We too would buy frozen joyce and peppermit candies those were the days to remember. I dont know what happen to those days, they are gone but not forgotten. Everything is so different now, things have change, people have change also. We need those good old days back.
Did this growing and enjoyed it, also we had no where to play- dem “big fellars” occupied the one little cricket pitch….. 20 – 30 years ago and this is still being done- get them Kids some playground .

Awww… I miss those days of playing in the street. We always used to play “I declare a certain piece of land”….:), then we would go and get coconut ice pop by a well known shop keeper in DA. Walk in her backyard and scream her name thru her window. She was so nice and would also give us custard frozen joyce free. Boy look nice time!!! That’s the DA I know and love! Not this DA today nuh.

This is in Petite Soufriere. Glad to see the kids keeping up the tradition.
A picture tells a thousand words, indeed. It also evokes an infinite number of images and emotions. Thanks, DNO!
Classic!
I like this picture. Trying to figure out where it was taken. I just can’t!
Looks like the road at the top of Petite Soufriere….maybe.
interesting… Remind me of my younger years when that was our summer entertainment….Clean healthy fun..Where was this photo taken? Can somebody tell me…Thanks…
Keep on being positive towards the game of cricket lads.
Continue to enjoy the most popular sport in the English speaking Caribbean, the 2nd most popular sport in the world ie Cricket lovely cricket.
Beautiful picture. It brought back so much pleasant memories. At those times, farmers were at war with us. We use to pick the hard, green and immature grapefruits and oranges and used them for bowling.
I am now a farmer but I do not have that problem. The young boys are locked behind a computer, a smart phone or a gaming console. When they are out, its an iPod or a cell phone.
Lovely!!!! Where is this.
Lords cricket ground.
lots of talent.no place to practise
I love love this! Remember my days on the road in Pichelin. Sweet!
Country bookie!!
Where?????
Those were the days. activities like these have been replaced by facebook, playstations, internet and computer games. At the end of such fun filled activity where everyone in the village would come out, we would find a cool river to jump in and have a bath, no knives, guns or cutlasses. Maybe a few but then tomorrow we would be at it again. Good fun.
