It is no secret Dominicans love wood fire cooking. The photographer and friend, who live in Atlanta, Georgia, could not resist the temptation of cooking a broth on a wood fire. They say it brought back many memories of Dominica.
“You can take us out of Dominica but can’t take Dominica out of us,” the photographer said.

Hi, where in New Jersey is the August 4th picnics being kept. Also nice photo but we don’t do that in NYC. Good morning DA.
You can do that anywhere you want. What is the difference between that and the lafimeh bbq that passing. Just do it at a time when you bbqing and tell them is pit roasting.
Those doubting this is ATL be quiet folks. People all over the US cook on pits. just saturday I watch Trading Spouses and the man was roasting a whole pig on an open pit with chunks of wood in Omaha.
how are we supposed to know that it is truly in ATL…next time please include scenery to prove/confirm your location
even a house…knowing that the style of houses are different from the Caribbean
as far as i’m concerned this pic was taken in calibishie
Tiny, the red bricks should be a huge clue for u.These red bricks are mostly used in building in georgia tennesse and the carolinas, certainly not in calibishie.
Maybe the red dirt, but definitely not the red brick!
I was just thinking of that yesterday. I believe that cooking this way gives more flavour to the food. I don’t know whether it’s because everything is natural.
Big up DNO for posting my picture. We were trying to get that Dominica home feeling Sunday afternoon. Big up Optimistique family! we happy you all love the photo!

Boy them Optimistique Fellas not easy is why I like hanging with them man they real
Haha…I just knew it had to be one of you guys from Paix Bouche. Thought it was Jefferson but its Jovin…trust all you them boys from by the school…nice.
Where in ATL, I’m coming for my share..lol
Bet it’s South City guys who do dat
This! must be down South, for sure.
Of course this is the South, do you know how many violations and fines they would get for conducting this activity up North.
Au contraire, I can’t think of any place in the United States which would find the act of cooking broth on a fire illegal. Maybe some of the really large cities that have some heavy restrictions on fires, but even then, you’re usually fine with a conforming fire pit.
Hmmmmmmmm. Love it.
i like that
That is di real ting wii… Not to long ago I tell dem man in Boston we should cook a pot outside on wood ..lol nice vibes
now that just made my day.. I only get to do this when I go camping which is like once a year
