Why are you dictating to DNO? Patience! Some people do not mind. You should know that you are not the only one who has access to DNO’s Website.

    Hey nice pic!

Yet I still can’t stop thinking about that douwad and babawoulai (from maclaukin) I had yesterday.

Yes, I know its too early for yams, but hey, when you are in CB you must survive on the land.

And no, I did not take it from by Sang- or by dinne-, Raymond Stone (Ramoustone) always have babawoulai year round. You have to know where to look.

Interesting! The sea has a lot of different color, shape and sizes of fishes. I had not heard the word ‘Zorfee’ for years since I do not reside in DA and had forgotten by it. I cannot remember ever seeing a whole one and never heard they had worms. I am wondering have they always had worms?
I have eaten this fish. Now that I have seen a full picture and hearing it has worms, I will never eat it. When I visit DA I will ensure that I do not eat it. Anything looking like a snake and has worms will turn me off eating them.
As we grow older our tastes change. This will be one of it that I hope I never see or eat.
I will not eat eel and octopus for similar reasons. I do not even want to see them.
I like Jacks, Red fish and others. I recall another one which is called Savon – Soap Fish. It has a soft or shall I say slimy feel. :) This one had to be cleaned extremely well. I remember that much.
I am certain that Zorfee is relatively healthy and safe to eat and, for those who do not know it has worms. :)

You are wrong and insulting. Just as there are edible animals there are also edible fishes and vice versa.

Some things are just not worth eating and this is one of them. Dominica has enough apetizing items on its menu…I would allow this one to stay in the ocean. I will not condemn anyone who partakes of it, however, I will do lamowie(codfish)instead papa.

In bygone years that fish was eaten. No one made a fuss or objected. They were too happy to eat it. The problems today are Internet and computers which expose them. If it were not for those I would never have seen a picture of them and know that there are worms on them. If I had known, I would not mention it on the Internet/Website. Some people let everything out. They do not give it a thought that it may affect others.

Well you need to see a picture of codfish. It is one of the ugliest fishes in the sea. Look it up but, careful if you see it, you may never eat codfish again. In comparison to codfish zofee is beautiful.

I recall some months ago, probably a year ago that DNO posted a skin of a snake. I wonder where and how did DNO get it. I do not recall anyone objecting to it. Wrack your memory if you have been consistently accessing DNO for a few years.

Most fresh water fish (and crayfish too) have parasitic worms that can be deadly if they are not properly cooked. Just because you don’t see them does it mean that their eggs are not there.

    • Justice and Truth
      October 20, 2012

…And properly seasoned. During a conversation with someone in Toronto about fruits, I was informed that some fruits have worms; many are imported. It appears that we cannot get away from them. Fruits, vegetables, etc. all have some sort of worms/germs. It is imperative that we clean them properly with water. If we have to worry about them we will never eat anything. Mangoes also have worms.

      October 18, 2012

I was not aware that they had worms. This is the first time I heard of it. Of course, I was never a fisherman. They catch them and clean them before selling them.

  20. Think About It

It reminds me of a snake yikes, I have no dealings with it.

    • jennifer
      October 18, 2012

not only that they have white worms on the side and you need to split the side to let them out.

If I ever saw this long fish and the worms I would never eat the fish. I hate worms.

    • Justice and Truth
      October 18, 2012

When I saw the first picture I thought it was a snake. I hate those things. I was turned off and thought I will not access the article. When I read the headline I saw it is a Zorfee.

This fish carries a lot of worms in its flesh. It’s a host to white worms. I have seem them with my own eyes. For this reason, I do not eat this fish. Titiwee is also a host of bacteria and diseases. Any aquatic animal without scales and fins is not fit for human consumption. Take heed, my people.

Do not make me laugh. I had a good laugh about that. This time I am not giving the photo a compliment and from the comments.
Setting that aside, do not blame DNO. It is a picture of a fish for those who are interested. Generally, I like eating fish. I ate a lot of fish when I resided in DA. Fish is healthy to eat. It is highly recommended over beef.

For me to eat that fish,I have
to clean it myself,to remove all those tiny long worms which sticks to the flesh and stil, I refuse to eat it

    • Justice and Truth
      October 20, 2012

If I have to do that, it would turn me off. Those things upset me. I would never clean, cook and eat it. Some of us have different stamina.

You mean snakes. Upsetting, eh? It gives me the ‘creeps’. For your information, the meaning:
      1. creeps: A feeling of discomfort (scared or queasy) greater than the willies or the jitters, but less than being freaked out or even grossed out.
