This remindes me of my grandmother cooking.
Stop talking but them grambay women i know alot of you would like to have a ]granbay women, i am not from grandbay , but i heard they are wonderfull, so leave granbay alone , [dont mess with grandbay
Show that we are developed (i.e., our education system, at least) by checking your sentence structure before you post. ‘a civilization world’?
Notten wrong wid boiling your food in your yard or on the road side. All I am suggesting is that we make an effort to eat healthier. We cannot eat pig snout and other salty foods forever. Sooner or later, it will catch up with us. The fish broth without a lot of salty stuff is fine with me. We can cook that on the road side any day.
sweet those were d good old days.dat looking good its just a pity i dont eat pork.n e ways thats gud food as a matter of fact just come out n cook a food n my fireside there and dat tasting irie.
dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
this is the next level of colonary art.
you mean colonialary art
culinary art
I think you both mean “culinary”
yes i nice pick, its part of our culture have nothing to do with being poor.We live abroad but every chance we get we get some sticks and do the same in the back yard and we have all the modern conveniences that life have to offer nothing beats the natural way.
I have long come to the conclusion, and convnced even more now that one does not have to eat every part of a pig.
LOL
We really do have to educate people. What is wrong with the pic? How are you certain that the food is salty?
You can count the amount of smoke meat in the pot. We advertise as an Eco-tourism destination… I know hundreds of people that will love to be by a river or up in the heights cooking a “jot” as we refer to it. Yes, I did say hundreds of people. This pic is in no way, shape or form GHETTO. Grow mentally people! Not everything is about 5 Star hotel, and six story buildings.
I totally agree
i totally agree with you too…some of them that making those comments a sitting in other peoples countries have never seen a five star hotel all they do is wait to go and pick up their food stamp and welfare checks…they just jealous because their welfare check not enough for the to pay their passage and come down for some jot
Boy look shagwhey!! I honestly wish that i could have some of that when its done.
@ MOTS: Sorry pal, I live outside of Dominica and NEVER get tired of seeing good Dominican food.
@ Shatta: I come from Salisbury and we cook like that there too. Best damn food that I have ever eaten. So I guess that we are poor too, but thats ok, you can keep your caviar and rack-of-lamb ’cause I would be very happy to have this pot in my back yard right now.
@ negre marwon: Yes things are hard on the plantation but as you can see we are eating like kings. You contradict yourself too much!! You want us to live in the wild like you but yet you want us to cook on a stove even though you are always bawling down our “modern conveniences”.
@ development: I guess that St Lucia, SVG, Grenada, St Kitts, and Antigua are so developed that people don’t camp out and if they do then they order KFC by sattelite phone and have it airlifted to the camp site by helicopter.
Good one.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR RESPONSE ON THIS ONE…..
Mann we are living in a civilization world, can you stop showing these pix; let us show the rest of the Caribbean, we are civilized nation to. Pleased by showing some development in the country, when you view St Lucia, SVG, Grenada, St Kitts, and Antigua what you will be seeing is development, if I want to see meat I’ll go to the supermarket…
That is the biggest bit of tosh I have ever heard..that pic does not mean we do not have modern amenities…it only show (or reminds me of) the beauty of outdoor life in Dominica. Honestly are you trying to wind us up..u are being provocative right?
I guess “development” is like The Jeffersons (sitcom). He or she done moved on up to the East Side with a deluxe apartment in the sky.
i consider this culture. With the sky rocketing gas prices these days wish i could do that it my back yard, would definelty save a lot of $$$$$$$$ of gas.
Stop talk BS…we are unique we will remian unique..who doh like it lay down next to it and buy a stove……stups
Learn proper grammar before you post anything about being civilized…
Tings must be really hard down there on the plantation when all the pictures are about people
cooking food by “bodash chemin’ on old pieces of wood in unsanitary conditions. This photo isn’t
even roots like the way we do it in Morne au Diable. This is plain GHETTO
And give Grand Bay a Break!!you all Haterz
DNO,
You posting that pot of salty food there exactly under the article about high blood Pressure? Boy all you not easy nor.. Can you post a picture of a few bottles of Loubiere water under the pot of salty food? You going to need gallons of water after eating that…
f you notice it looks like local poor. That is not the salted imported pork. shaking my head. Look again, this time put your glasses.
My pressure was up, and I sit on my glasses and break it. I know that food there had plenty salt because I was there. I taste it..
In any case, the number of deaths related to high blood pressure is a big concern, not just in DA but in black people all over. We should promote healthy eating as much as we can.
Still LMAO.
