Dominica is not the USA. In the USA there is also food stamps, and various social welfare programs that is not available here. Once upon a time Dominicans did not pay for hospital and now they do, so Dominica is moving that way too. Remember States is light years ahead of D/a and Dominica need to learn to creep.
But all the same there should still be a benefit from being Dominican. Dominican and visitors should not be treated at the same level

I want to congratulate the Government of Government to take up that initiative and restore cabrits. All governments before this government never saw the need to restore cabrits. Looking forward to more restoration done in our island. The time to sacrifice is now.

What utter rubbish!!! Restoration works on the Cabrits began somewhere in the 1980’s.

If your government was giving the project money it would probably be completed by now.

Do you know that in the bushes surrounding the Cabrits there are dilapidated shells of buildings much bigger than the ones that have already been restored?

Think what kind of tourism product we have wasting away… Instead of the monstrosity that is being built just outside the Cabrits walls we could have had a “historic type hotel” at the Cabrits itself.

I do not know where you get your facts. Lennox Honeychurch started raising money and getting assistance to restore Fort Shirley since 1982, there was a big festival or launching or something that year along with National Parks Forestry. I was a youth in Possie and I later found out he worked with all governments over the years DFP, UWP, DLP….Canadians, British, EU, Dominica Gov and now Chinese all help. Now popular for weddings conferences etc..
