In this modern day and time – what a poorly desighned spring bridge across the Castle Bruce River, a part of the National Trail.

Why – the footfall surface is a recipe for disaster and a health hazard. Given that this is a part of the National Trail, one expect the flow of traffic to be heavy and with such gaps in the surface crossing how can one possibly maintain their balance – it seems there’s going to be blows on people’s ankles.

I can see a lawsuit coming around the corner.

nice river..water look so calm. I think I’d pass under the bridge and step into water on a dry day. Looks shallow enough

This is actually a swing bridge, being conspicuous for it’s simple structural form and lateral instability. How this structure came to be identified as a spring bridge, I have not a clue; but it could be because of an associated locality.

This brings back BAD memories for me. Think they change the position from where the old one was, but still yet no one is making me set foot on that thing again. bad bad bridge.

Sit on one of the stones with your face in the direction of the ocean during a rainstorm and you will know whether or not it is a river.

I ignored such bridges exist in Dominica. I have seen many in andean countries like Ecuador.
Nice, but sometimes a bit frightening, isn’t it ?
