I know the prices going high, but Dominicans need to stop complaining especially those who listen to world news. I live in the USA, and while you are in line the people raise the price on you. We pay $3.98 a gallon of gas. Prices are going up all over the world.
As for the Christians, they should be glad because these spell out the time of Jesus coming is very near.
    God bless

A photo is worth 1000 words. Great imagination. That photo couldn’t be more AUTHENTIC and INFORMATIVE. Who laugh last, laugh the best. All those poor people who were jumping up praising Reggie, ( Minister for PETRO CARIBE but not for ENERGY. Quite laughable.) Skerritt and that bunch of money-hungry DLP politicians are now GRINNING not Laughing. It is those politicians who are laughing at you all. All though their vehicles SUV etc. are gulping gas is joke for them to pay for fuel. The majority of you all will be by the roadside in your different villages BUMMING a RIDE to go to Roseau, to Portsmouth, to wherever. Which Minister or DLP guys are on Petro Caribe board? Who receive the DIVIDENDS? Food prices and Transportation will soon rise. Fish $10.00/lb But who cares? Who cares?

Did they calculate a discount on that sale?

1.895 gallons at $15.19 per gallon comes out to $28.79 (rounded to nearest penny) not $25.00 as the meter shows.

imperial gallons and (u.s) gallons have a difference in figures . 15.19 is price per gallon and not imperial gallons

      • Jaco
        May 10, 2011

That just makes it even worse.

1 Imperial gallon = 1.20095042 US gallons. The meter shows that the fuel dispensed is 1.895 imperial gallons which is equivalent to 2.276 US Gallons.

If the price per gallon is $15.19 per US Gallon the total should be (1.895 x 1.20095042) x 15.19 = $34.57.

In any event, at a $25.00 total cost and 15.19 unit cost, the amount dispensed should be 1.64582 (must be Dominican Gallons whatever that is) which would be equivalent to 1.895 imperial gallons.

I still think that the figures on the Meter should be easy for the average customer to understand.

All in all makes an interesting picture.

imperial gallons or (u.s) gallons calculation is calculation. Therefore the Jaco is correct
