Part in doing something ,
well a few days later I received that call that my flower pot was seen floating in the sea .
Helas helas helas
The youth of today cannot be seen walking , no way not when there is a bus service .
What happened to all de walks we used to take ,in de stony dirt road, bursing our toes, holding our likkle gyrol fren hand walking hand in hand and when we see adults coming from afar, have to hide en ?
Now allu have highway and refuse to walk, claiming de sun hot , but allu fro de coconut plant instead of planting more ! By now other people , village councils and maybe even companies would be coming to you guys to produce tyre flower pots for them , and allu asking passers by for a dollar .
Not me ein . I know how to use a bad patois swear word , trust me .
When the Soufriere Scott’s Head high way was completed I visited with admiration .
I voiced an observation that something was missing . I reminded the parties concerned there were grape trees almond trees , coconut trees , screw pine, etc, growing all along that road . 1 enhanced beauty , 2 afternoon shade for walkers ,3 natural habitat for natures animals , be it insects, birds, crabs, toolooloos etc etc. Drums, tyres ,even wooden containers could be filled to accommodate these plants .I was told why don’t I do so myself . Well I did , I have mastered the art of using inturned tyres , designed , painted of different sizes to make flower pots . the used tyres are free , they last for ever , recycled ,and can be moved from one spot to another . I spent a few minutes doing the tyre, deliberately in full view of three unemployed youths of the area , filled that tyre, planted a growing coconut plant in there, and placed it beside the foot path , I was convinced I had played a small…
