DPC POETRY: I am a Creole lioness

I am the future politician Pierre Charles
from Sout’ City Grand Bay
The next generation of Maya Angelou
I am the replica of Unicef aka Philip Mobudu Francis
during the Geneva Estate Revolution.
Yes!  I am Harriet Tubman of the Underground Railroad
who led Slaves to their freedom in Canada.
I am also the Bellaire Queen of Sout’ City, Grand Bay –
just like Orian and Adriana.
I am the Martin Luther King Jr.
that speaks to the generation of today.
I am the female version
of Barack Obama
The voice of Midnight Groovers
on Radio En Ba Mango;
Yes indeed,
I am a creole woman
I am a Proud GrandBayrian!

Come on Sister let them know that great things do come from Grand Bay too. Recently we had the success of Shandee, how many Dominicans praised her? Only a hand full. There is still more to come like it or not. We are Grandbarians first proud to come from the Nature Island of the Caribbean. Come on Helena suck it to them. Love it :)

You are who you are! Name and claim who you are. No one has any right to tell you who you are. By now, no one can decide your identity better than you can. And guess what? You can change that identity because identities are in flux..ever forming….. You go girl!

My lady Hellina, I am stunned with amazement. I just can’t find a word to describe how proud I am of you for writing this poem. It Takes someone with a special skill to write this splendid poem. I hope my comment will give you a higher propensity to write poems.

Beautiful.Indeed a strength of identity and consciousness.
And for virgo: Grandbayrian is (a) Poetic LICENSE
    (b) If you understand, the writer is accentuating a number of attributes.

Great poem. I love it but don’t forget that you are an African first. We usually describe ourselves by every other name except who we truly are.
Continue your great work. Maybe you wiil publish your own poetry in the future. Keep your head up and remember that the sky is the limit.
We truly have talent in Sout’ City

Yes I Helena. What good timing. Shanee arrived at Melville Hall this morning with a handfull of Grand Bayrians, SAT telecoms and Curtis Matthew from Grand Bay waiting to welcome her.Shanee’s interview was short and dry and although she stated that she was tired, I firmly believe that she was just disappointed that after such an achievement for herself and her country, that there was no official from the Government to say the least to welcome this child. Ah magwas sa!
