The pain and anguish that you bear
Cannot be solved by drinking a beer
Some see it as only enjoying life
But oftentimes it’s pain inside.
Adding on to that single drink
Only grows faster than you think
Before you continue just stop for a while
And ask yourself if it’s worth the while.
The pain you feel seems to be a lonely load
But my friend as an alcoholic you increase that load
On your spouse and children you impact
That it gets so out of hand, result, a heart attack.
You might say you’ll stop when ready
But with a hold on you, brother, sorry
So before crossing that tempting line
Think now because you have the time.
If the burden you bear is too much to carry
Seek help my friend, don’t you tarry
Your pastor, your teacher, your doctor, your nurse
Their help you can seek before the hearse.
Remember that God is part of the mix
Rely upon Him your pain He’ll fix
Trust in Him and He’ll provide
The help you need to see you by.
