EHS: Improved Goat Festival this year

Plans are underway to make sure that patrons who plan to attend the second edition of the Goat Festival in La Plaine have enough goat meat to enjoy.

Last year’s festival was marred by complaints that there was not enough goat meat to consume at a festival which is all about goats.

Member of the organizing committee of the festival, Ron Green, assured DNO this is not going to repeat itself this year.

“Last year there was not enough goat meat for people to eat,” he stated. “It ran out about 8:00 pm, so this year we making sure that we can cover that up and we expect that there will be enough goat meat for everybody to have a taste.”

The festival runs from August 1 to 4 and Green is promising an improved product. “We see great strides of improvements from last year to this year,” he pointed out.

He said the event is the product of a community that had been seeking for something where all sectors could benefit.

“La Plaine has been looking over the years for an event that would suit the village and would galvanize not only the vendors and those that would not only provide services in La Plaine, but would also speak to our productive and cultural sectors,” he noted. “So we came up with the festival since is a fair amount of goat production in the village and we thought that this is a way of motivating and inspiring farmers to get into goat production and expand.”

The festival will kick off on Thursday with “Tricky Thurday” at Kentos Bar where Live DJ’s and bands will be featured.

On Friday there will be the opening of the Fabs Moonlight Sport, a bar and guest house.

Saturday is described as ‘the big day’ with goat races, a goat show, and a performance by Asa Bantan will end activities for the day.

Then on Sunday the event will close with an event in Waneri Park with Fanatik providing entertainment.

Green said the organizing committee is expecting a “mammoth crowd.”

I have made this suggestion that the Goats who participate in the Pageant should be spared the killing
I believe it is only the sensible thing to do that this Animal entertained You and You should simply show some mercy and not kill those who participated in the show . The line must be drawn somewhere and a level of mercy must be manifest! PLEASE!
