Dominican writers Kristine Simelda and Delroy Williams are among 15 finalists in a Caribbean short story competition. The competition essentially entails a bid by several Caribbean writers to get their short stories published in the Potbake Productions publication, Across The Caribbean.
Organizers, Potbake Productions, say that over 60 writers with more than 80 entries participated in the two-year-old competition and with the volume of entries this year, it was impossible to limit the publication to 10 short stories and so they had to make a final selection of 15.
Congratulations to both individuals! Delroy, I heard you at the Literary Festival this year and you were fabulous. I keep hoping that more young people would be interested in the literary arts. Too few of our kids are reading these days. I guess I should not be surprised at the very few comments on this type of news.
Congrats Delroy. Keep on keeping it real, hold down the Fort!
Good job!!! Been reading Delroy’s stories for tears on his blog.
Congrats Delroy, you continue to make me proud.
Young people to the world.
Congratulations young men! Proud of you.
DNO: Meantime I understand Deryck Hunter St. Rose won the Caribbean police calypso monarch. It would be nice to get that story.
