The driver of a green Toyota pickup truck was injured in an accident in Salisbury on Saturday morning.

Reports are that the accident took place close to the Catholic church building when the vehicle ran into an embankment on the side of the road.

It reportedly flipped over and landed on the cab with the four wheels in the air. The cab was damaged.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time, however, he was taken by ambulance to the St. Joseph Health Center.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Driving is a privileged , the government in America will take any one’s driving privilege if a driver is not care full driving on the public high way , some of those drivers I have seen in Dominica will never drive in America or any other country, people need to slow down respect the rules of the road ,and stop drinking and driving.

    Haters
Who said the man was speeding?
Isn’t that the same road pm supposed to fix together with providing feeder roads
Salisbury interior village road is filled with pot holes which is why I know it wasn’t speeding that caused it
Perhaps the man is broke he could not grow some melons to buy new brakes because there is no road going to his garden

    DNA

IF A VEHICLE FLIPPED IT MEANS IT HAS OVERTURNED
IF IT OVERTURNED IT MEANS THAT THE FOUR WHEELS GOT TO BE IN THE AIR
IF THE FOUR WHEELS ARE IN THE AIR IT MEANS THAT IT MUST BE RESTING ON ITS CAB
AND IF IT IS RESTING ON ITS CAB IT MEANS THAT THE CAB MUST BE DAMAGED

This was on the main road, not the village road. It’s a sharp turn, but the pavement is not bad there.

What time of the morning did this accident occur?
I wonder, was the driver speeding or was something wrong with the pick-up?
I hope his injury is not serious and that he will recover soon. Wish you well.

    • RESPONSE
      July 17, 2016

Did the report suggest that the driver was travelling fast or was not taking his/her time? Did it say that the driver was Dominican? Please update this article if you know more than DNO. Anyway, I will agree that generally drivers should take time. Please br careful about jumping to conclusions. That behaviour is unkind and irresponsible. It may have well been that the vehicle had mechanical problems or the driver was unwell.

You know sickens me that persons want to be judge, jury and executioner whenever there is an accident. They were not present at the time of the accident, and don’t know the circumstances surrounding the accident but they opening their lapo bodah and saying is fast driving. How you know the driver didn’t have a heart attack or some seizure or the person diabetic or something and the sugar level dropped too low?? It may just be just what it is…an accident. He may have also been going around the corner too fast..but that is not for us to say. That is for the police. So unless you have evidence which gives the true cause of the accident we have no right to go judging. Shate man….

I like the pen name! And I agree with you wholeheartedly. The trouble with us Dominicans is we know everything about everything under the sun – real and imagined. Things that happened, happening, about to happen, did not happen. Everyone is an expert. On everything. Yet, look at our country. I cyan tell if it’s going or coming. So many experts! Darn!
