The Honda HRV lying wheels up in the river at Belles

In formation reaching DNO indicates that a motor vehicle – a Honda HRV – ran off the road in Belles this afternoon and ended up in the river.

A resident of the community who spoke with DNO said that the driver and one passenger who were in the vehicle at the time, were both taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital.

So in countries with perfect roadways there are no accidents? Silly people, the better the roads the more accidents and more more fatal accidents. After Maria where there was hardly road access there were no accidents. As soon as the roads cleared accident everyday, what does this tell you? Talk to your drivers.

my point is our roads get hardly any maintenance. the vehicles get bigger and bigger and the load they carry is getting heavier. The roads we drive on; – apart from the west coast highway which was recently resurfaced to accommodate heavier traffic; Were never meant for traffic the size it is now and are not fit to be called safe two lane roadways. unless you think they are perfect because traffic still flows through. if so then something is wrong with you because you may think it is good how it is. Let me guess your response.. hold on hold on hold on..”if u cannot do anything about it why dont you just shut my trap and say nothing?” yes? my point is we need to maintain these atrocities we call roads, maybe we might have less accidents like this one in the article. Maybe if there were guard rails or rumble strips the driver would not have driven over the precipice. having 4 lanes is not my point, my point is if you want to have 2 lanes, they must be adequate for our vehicles TODAY

DNO I think you all are one sided and too political. You accept comments that are against the ruling Labour Party Government and when some comment or reply to a comment made you do not accept it and post it. You all are honestly too POLITICAL

we need better roads. We can avoid the seriousness off accidents if the roads were safer. making sure you drive safely is no longer an excuse to avoid accidents. A lot of time you are and you still end up in one or causing one. Dodging potholes alone here is dangerous on these donkey cart sized roads we call our highways.

whats your point about donkey cart. ppl drive on these roads every days with no accidents.
with four lane highways there are still pile ups. Driver or vehicle error is cause.

Again! Yesterday one ended in the sea today another one in the river? Gason Skerrit live my people alone! It’s time for you to go so those evil spirits could flee from my country man. Oh lala with that man

he was elected, I was one of those who placed him there and he is a good hurricane. You people must stop use Skerrit as allu excuse for nature and man made disasters. “Is he your God?” God is still in control of His world and He allows things to happen to teach us lessons. Learn those lessons and fix your life.

Happy that both occupants lives were spared. These accidents are happening much too frequently. Thorough investigations should be done to ascertain the root of the problem. Then put mechanisms in place to reduce these mishaps to negligible levels.

Cannot agree with you more. Suggested the same in my homeland last week after a potentially dangerous accident involving a Public Service Vehicle. We can learn from the findings of such accidents.
