hmph. this looks like a ‘sports’ car. Wouldn’t be surprised if the driver was driving it in a ‘sportish’ way.

I would like to make a suggestion . The police program , on the beat should go on a campaignRe- Sensitize and to Re-Educate all members of the public on road safety and the driving and highway codes. most of us will agree that the rules of road safety and the highway codes have thrown out of the window and some has instituted their own set of rules for the road.By the way what has become of police week ?

This area is a safe area, the road is wide and safe so the only conclusion is he or she had to be distracted by texing , drunk, or excessive rate of speed at that location, I am from pt Michel and I travel this road almost every day, the area is safe and this accident is either the drivers fault or vehicle malfunction are the possibilities.

We do know some are careless drivers. They speed, assuming nothing will occur to them.
Aside from a vehicle “suddenly malfunctioning,” drivers must also ensure their vehicle is roadworthy. It is an offense to drive a vehicle which is in need of repair. Some could take too many chances with their lives and that of others.
If a driver has an accident and the vehicle is found to be not roadworthy, a charge will be laid against the driver. If there are passengers in the vehicle and they are injured or lose their life, these are two more charges. Therefore, drivers must ensure their vehicles are up to par for driving.
There are times the vehicle lets out a signal that something is wrong with it. They should immediately check it at a car repair, if they are not able to do so.
There aim should be to avoid accidents, injuries and save lives including their own.

Drivers must comprehend the type of roads and traffic they deal with. Today, D/ca has better and wider roads as ever. If per chance the roads are not what they should be, observe this and drive cautiously. Be considerate.
The government, the Traffic Department, The Police Department should organize a meeting with D/can drivers. Hopefully most or all will attend. Have them in various areas of D/ca to discuss road safety.
There are many accidents which could be avoided, if drivers are cautious. Do your best not to be distracted. The loud music which is played in vehicles and which could deafen the ears of passengers should be decreased. Avoid too much talk, useless and loud ones.
Please! Let us keep Dominica safe. Remember drivers, you also have the life of passengers to consider.
I am warning you! Some people do not think what will God think/say. Those of you who drive recklessly and cause accidents, death and injury, God will hold you accountable.

some roads may be better, BUT THEY LACK PROPER MARKINGS like LINES ON THE ROADS AND ON THE EDGES TO INDICATE THE END OF THE ROAD there should be proper divisions on the road and markings showing the edge of the road aswell as reflective paint and or reflective devices on the roads during the night… since point blank driving in the dark in Dominica is like driving blind

There are drivers who do not have any regards for other people’s lives, they overtake where they are not expected to overtake, they are actually doing crazy things on the roads on any given day

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Drivers, passengers and pedestrians should lodge a complaint. They are all in it. They must address these important issues to the proper authority. Be persistent; do not give up. If everyone collectively address this issue, they may just get prompt results. It is for the benefit of everyone in general.
I appreciate your positive and courteous comment. We need more of these on DNO. They help for pleasant reading/response and are also encouraging. lol:
God bless you! Have a great day/evening!

I may have heard of new vehicles which will be built and equipped in such a manner that they will only be able to go at the expected speed; no faster. Well, this may be years away. This would avoid many accidents. Would this not be worth it?
If such vehicles would be built, the Dominican government will have to stipulate roadway speeds in order for those vehicles to function properly.
The problem is too many people, babies, young and older are dying in vehicular accidents. Toronto is no exception; all of Canada for that matter.
Just this morning I heard on the Toronto News a young man got off a bus and tried to cross the street. A vehicle driven by an impaired driver injured him. He even flew on the windshield and into the air, landing on the street. He is badly injured and hospitalized. I have not yet heard if he will survive or if he still is. Both drivers and pedestrians must be careful.

The driver may have been either intoxicated with either alcohol or illegal drugs. These are hazards which cause many accidents.
