There was an accident in St. Joseph on Friday morning.
Details are still sketchy but information reaching DNO indicates it occurred near the bridge in the village.

For everyone wondering how the accident occurred, here are the details. The jeep was going at a moderate speed along the St. Joseph high way. A vehicle who was on the side of the road suddenly veered onto the road, probably not noticing the jeep. Then, the car hit the left back door of the jeep which was in motion. The driver of the jeep lost control and veering into the stone wall on the side of the road. the impact caused the jeep to overturn twice before landing on its roof. HE WAS NOT SPEEDING.
For those who are concerned the driver is doing well and at home resting…

This is a scary accident. He is fortunate that he was only injured. It could have been worst.
back in the days donkey was stoping and fighting with each other so what would u say then. the donkeys were to slow.
Poor driving skills are the problem.The transport drivers require strict speed limits.The refurbished roads are fine.Just the idiots on the road.

He wasn’t speeding… the accident was caused when a car that was on the side of the road veered into the road and hit the jeep near the left back door. The driver lost control, applied the brakes, hit the side of the stone wall near the road and then overturned twice. HE WAS NOT SPEEDING PEOPLE. It was truly an accident.
For everyone concerned the driver is doing fine and home resting at this point in time.

I think speed bumps are needed in communities: Massacre, mahaut, st.joe, Coulibistrie. etc.

There is nothing with black friday, they just canot drive, farst or slow, no control of their car, no commensens, THEY NEED TO LEARN PROPERLY BEFORE THEY GO ON THE ROAD BY THEIRSELF…. but for that, they need good teacher… drive is not easy as they think, espacely automatique transport, that is the best to crash.
And u need to learn how to spell basic words correctly, it’s especially, not espacely, and automatic and not automatique…….gosh and yet still you are the future generation…..smh

Is this the first time that three accidents occurred within a few minutes that morning? Strange isn’t it? People who are aware of this day cannot help but wonder about that, Black Friday. People all over the world recognize this day as it is called. Surely, they cannot be wrong.
To all the people putting on their comments about speeding, speed bumps etc, do you all know the actual cause of the accident?

Dominican government needs to get with the program, start giving speeding tickets,then reinvest this money into communities, senior programs,affordable housing, and schools that really needs it.If they do not pay these tickets on a specific day, arrest their asses and let them spend some time in jail to take this seriously. Maybe that will wake them up before they end up taking the life’s of innocent people.

We do not need speed bumps damaging the roads again. Speed bumps even damage people cars. What we need is road signs/speed signs and the laws to be enforced. Dominicans need to learn the hard way can’t spoon feed them all the time. You break the law, you pay the price. We need traffic police alone the highways,giving tickets for speeding and checking for drinking and driving. Let them pay for their ignorance! If going above the speed limit pay the price. That’s money going towards the country. We need SLOW DOWN signs!!
Is not the rum dat doing dem dat as you can see they all happened early in the morning. Dominica is the only place that when they drink rum they drive better.
Dominicans not driving these days, they only flying. It’s downright scary, a special plea must be made to those bus drivers who drivers recklessly with passengers on board. Let them understand, it is not about them but it is about the many lives they have on their bus. If a bus driver gets into an accident and it is his fault, I think his license should be suspended.
drive at speeds u can control, avoid drinking and driving and stay off cell phones…also respect other drivers the road is not ur parents estate so drive on ur side n stop racing!

Near the bridge? I am assuming that it is close to the Church and cemetery in St. Joseph. Was it prior to driving on the bridge on the north or south side or after?
I am not from St. Joseph but I know the area and someone who resides near the bridge including a relative who resides further from the bridge. What I recall of that road is, it is narrow. Therefore, drivers should know that they must drive slowly and yield to drivers who have right of way.
and why not a white friday? people doing foolishness has nothing to do with the friday.
I did an airport drop in the dark and fog at 6 o’clock this morning. Thanked God for making it back safely, then decided to stay in the house the rest of the day although I badly needed to go and buy some green fig.

i have been saying that all along them nice road in dominica is accident waiting to happen please people get use to the road before you all start speeding especially when you have never driven on such roads before its wise to make yourself familiar with the road first and stop saying oh we havwe nice road let me test it that road can test us too

Tehy should not be speeding in the first place, they are just ignorant, and has no regards for the lives of others. They faill to realize people are often times travelling with theier kids on these whinning roads, but still they choose to drive like idiots. Good example, while the stretch of road was still being repaired under the canefeild cliffs,why are people overtaking, and speeding?? The all over the world places are being developed for the betterment on their countries, and appreciate and enjoy, why can’t we do the same. So many accidents and they still won’t learn.

Too late for that. They just have to drive safely and be courteous on the road. My hope is that other drivers will pay heed, be alert and avoid accidents.

Yes! Today, some strange things could happen. Some people believe in it and are paranoid about this day. I have to go out soon but I will not be unduly concerned about it.
