The roads in Dominica are more conducive to sight seeing, than driving aggressively. The over the weekend vehicular accidents, are alcohol related, say what you may, the level of showing off and haughtiness is taking Dominica down a path of both physical and property destruction, then again, a vast % of us DOMINICANS are ANIMAL NATURED, haven’t yet evolved humanely.

Sorry to learn of the five accidents in Dominica over the weekend.

It is the job of the police to investigate.

However we wonder why so many. Is there a common cause :?:

Alcohol is most often suspected. What about marijuana :?: It is harder to detect. Drivers need to understand that DUI includes both. The police should be checking for both best they can with what they have to work with.

Drinking and driving is illegal but people are killed by drunk drivers in Canada. We wonder if more will be killed next year when marijuana becomes legal in Canada thanks to our Catholic Liberal (and liberal) P.M.
who also promotes abortion and same sex marriage.

All of us need to make sure we are ready to be ushered into eternity when and however it happens because it WILL happen. Our only security is in Christ! We must believe that He died for our sins and rose again on the third day, and receive Him as our personal Savior. Please read John 1:12 and 1 John 5:11,12.

What does abortion and same sex marriage have to do with 5 accidents rev stop being a hypocrite!

      • June 21, 2017

        To answer your question:

The relationship between 5 accidents, abortion, and same sex marriage is a follows.

The same Canadian P.M. who is approving marijuana which has been known to result in accidents, also approves abortion, and same sex marriage. This leaves some of us concluding that he is a man that does not care a lot about the wellbeing of his people especially the young and upcoming generation.

Also since he showed bad judgment in the matters of abortion and same sex marriage (even going against his own church) many feel he should not be trusted to do the right thing in legalizing marijuana.

Really Whifer, these are issues people usually find they can discuss and debate without slinging mud and calling names. No need to call me a hypocrite.

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

Too many careless drivers on this island and no traffic tickets. If the government wants to make money legitimately, this is the way to do it and as well ensure safety on the roads.

These weekend accidents are one too many. The vehicles look badly damaged. I hope no one was badly injured.
When an accident occurs, the first thing the police should do is to conduct a breathalyzer test and also a speed test to determine the cause of the accident.

Are they really labeling an open dump truck as a garbage truck? Welcome to the next level. Labor is working hard to go backwards

    Good evening, just a question:
    > when did anyone in DA notice our police blocking road and checking on driving license, insurance and registration? According to my memory it must have been at least 4-5 years ago, I noticed such at the west bridge, reluctantly executed by few corporals, them fellas more often greeting friends and family, waving most cars through.
Further on, most trucks in DA do not have proper license stickers, lights, indicators or tires, not to mention blue-black smoke emerging from their exhaust pipes, if any…… Why can’t we enforce the few laws we got, why does the government so easy give away tax moni ?
My opinion, every single truck, bus, car and scooter without license should be confiscated until proper license and insurance is obtained! Guess what, we had 50% less traffic jams within a week ;o) and bus drivers would make a hell lotta money as well….. garçon you check me? is that so difficult?

In all my life on this earth I have never experienced two or more birds in a flock collided, neither have I seen two or more fishes in a shoal in a similar scenario; yet with our brains as humans we fail in that regard_ are we doomed by the very nature of things? or are we really as intelligent more than the creatures of the earth as we might think? _ our actions prove otherwise.

WHAT A SHAME how much money from CBI and garbage trucks don’t even have brakes. I would sue both driver and government for their last cent. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE we are not safe in our homeland due to incompetence.

I feel sorry for all the people who have lost their lives and those who are hurt. Time and again we have seen all kinds of contractors coming to fix roads from overseas, but not one of them are including road expansion in their Road Visibility Studies.
The roads in Dominica are TOO Narrow ! Even the new roads that I have seen being built still lack the width of standard operating conditions to meet international accepted conditions. So this I think has a major role to play with all these vehicular traffic accidents in the island. The same routes and bridges with all the bends and twists and turns that were used by our forefathers are still being used today. That must change . Drunk driving and people who were not properly processed to drive on the road are also a big concern too.

Yet, when we pray for our country and its people; fools call us hypocrites. The driving road test procedures need to be investigated. Some folks who do not deserve to be driving have drivers license. Must be buying the license and putting innocent people’s lives in serious danger.

The will always be drivers that will break the law, Once they get that piece of Plastic, they driver like everybody else, breaking the rules. I believe we need more enforce of the traffic rules. The Police need to do their jobs. I also of the opinion there should traffic police, specifically to deal with traffic matters, the police force is stretch. Employ more young officer and put them on the streets.

The accident involving the red car did not occur in Picard. It occurred in Canefield and the other vehicle heavily damaged was a SUV not a bus.

With all the police vehicles & motorcycles which the police have, I am not see the reasons for them not having traffic patrols and also to monitor the motorist.
Let’s stop hiring all this police for security of personal and the life of the people at hand.

      June 19, 2017

Do you believe that Police patrols will prevent accidents. While I agree that patrols are needed, it is the carelessness of some drivers that cause the accidents. Some accidents are sometimes unavoidable, but if our drivers drive with more attention, we will have less accidents.

      • June 20, 2017

Dominica is truly blessed by God :!:

Individuals bring a curse (or curses) upon themselves by rejecting Christ and living in sin. It is a personal matter.

Individuals will be forgiven if they trust Christ as their Savior and the curse (curses) will be cancelled and removed by the power of His blood.

So what will you do with Jesus :?:
        Neutral you cannot be.
Someday your heart will be asking
What will He do with me :?:
