Dominica News Online has received reports of a tragic death of a teenager in the village of Salisbury earlier this afternoon.
Unofficial reports from the village are that 14-year-old Amassa Bachelor was diving into the sea from a cliff with friends at a popular spot for young boys in Salisbury when he died.
Villagers speculate that Amassa may have broken his neck and/or drowned while diving. His body was pulled ashore by other persons in the area.
The deceased is said to be the twin brother of Asaph Bachelor. He was a student of the Isaiah Thomas Secondary School.
Dominica News Online will provide further details when it becomes available.

My condolences to the Family. News like that really touch me and so it is hard to read comments that try to turn incidents like these into a joke. How insensitive and heartless can people be? Let’s go back to being Dominicans who care for each other. His family and community hurt, so by extension we as Domincans hurt and mourne along with them. RIP Amasa. Another young Dominican gone too soon. R.I.P

alas…i knew him well…such a sad thing..times like this i put my self in the position..so young…i hope ur in a betta place dear…hmmph kah mem ITSS have a mah leh wi…
ITSS has NO “mah leh” in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth! Please note that words have power and so death and life lies in the power of the tongue. Saying that my almamater has “mah le” is sort of proclaiming a curse over this great institution.
I have not attahed you, just drawing a fundamental principle to the open. I encourage us to speak positive, “speak life”. WELL THANK YOU…….
My condolences to the family and friends of this young man, especially his twin.
