Domincan born woman found dead in Antigua

A Dominican born elderly woman living in Antigua has been found dead in her bed.

The Antigua Observer has identified her as Islin “Sister” James and it is reported she lay dead undiscovered for two days.

The body was discovered by neighbours who went to investigate after they had not  seen the elderly woman for some time.

“People had not seen her for about three days but at first it didn’t surprise anyone that the house was locked down because she usually lock up inside. But then there was a funny smell and people went to check and found her dead in her bed,” the Antigua Observer reported a witness as saying.

The Antigua police are investigating the matter.

    Hi May

You, like the writer, are saying that the woman is living though she is dead. This may be better. A Dominican born woman who resided in Antigua.

      @ Jackie Brown

Everyone makes mistakes. Just as long as you comprehend what you read. The problem is that some of you analyze, parse and criticize too much.
The word is ‘condolence’. You too are not perfect. You are petty.

A statement has been made regarding the word attains spelt incorrectly.

I would like to make it quite clear that at no time, have I ever, made this statement to anyone.

Unless someone else, has decided, to use the same name as me.

I have not been on this site on the 12 September 2012. Farless to make a statement to anyone regarding their spelling abilities.

Many of us have relatives in Antigua. I, too, would like to know the person’s real identity, and if possible, the cause of death. All-in-all, may her sould rest in peace.

I also know some Dominicans in Antigua. She may have had a heart attack and/or died in her sleep due to same or aneurism. We know this occasionally happens to people and not only the elderly. The autopsy will reveal the cause of death. I wonder if DNO will find out about it and post it for readers.

“An elderly woman living in Antigua but born in Dominica has been found dead in her bed”

My professor once told me that anytime I had to read something several times to understand what it is saying, then its not me.

Here is another one who loves to criticize. Your writing is even worst. Read it again. Anyway, you will not recognize your errors. It needs to be improved. You are lacking in proper writing and no doubt reading, of the English language.

Your English teacher apparently did not learn and therfore could not teach you about commas, fullstops, capital letters at the beginning of new sentences etc.

    • It's M
      September 12, 2012

You speak of grammar, what about your capital letters and punctualtion marks? It is just as bad! Do not criticize when you do not show the example in your writing!

      @ Anonymous

Some of you love to criticize and humiliate people for the simplest thing. You criticize DNO but your writing leaves much to be desired. You should be ashamed of yourself. It seems that your English teacher did not do a good job of educating you in also utilizing the punctuation marks and others, placing them where they should be.
You criticize others but note your writing which also needs improvement. Write and spell properly. The word is ‘attains’ not ‘attaines.’
Use ‘capitals’ and others where they are necessary, as ‘Dominica’ and ‘English’.
Use proper punctuation and note where you placed the comma and the exclamation mark. Leave two spaces between the full-stop (period) and one space after the comma. In so doing, we, the readers will be able to also understand without difficulty what you are trying to relay and will not criticize you. Think twice before correcting people on this Website. You are not their English Grammar teacher.
