Dominican dies in St. Thomas motorcycle crash

A Dominican has been killed in a deadly motor cycle crash, USVI police in St. Thomas are reporting.

The man has been identified as 40-year-old Richardson Seaman.

According to a release from the St Thomas Traffic Bureau, the incident occurred on June 19 at about 5:45 pm when Seaman’s motorcycle collided with an Audi car.

The Audi was reported to have been travelling in a southerly direction when it entered the northbound lane and ran into Seaman’s motorcycle.

The badly injured Seaman was taken to hospital in a critical condition and later died from his injuries.

The police report that he was not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the accident.

Seaman is said to have been visiting friends in St. Thomas when he died.

The police say the matter is under investigation.

To “Justice and Truth,” sometimes people do die before their destined time because of careless drivers or cold hearted people. If you or others have nothing positive to voice, it is always better to keep your peace. Thanks to all others for your kind words and love that was extended towards my family in such a sad time. May the Lord continue to guide and bless you all as he has blessed us! :(

Do you know these words, ‘Destiny’? As sad as it is, he was destined to die in this manner. How many times we say, ‘If only I knew?’ but too late. We do have regrets and will express regrets about certain circumstances also of our lives and what happened to us. However, in life, there is no ‘ifs and buts’; should not be. What is there to happen will always happen. We must be broadminded about that. We can only hope and pray that this will not happen to us.

Why are some people so ignorant? I mean… when a tragedy happens, why can’t you just sympathize with the families in pain? Why judge others and make negative/senseless/inhumane/ unnecessary and foolish comments? :(

I agree that he should have had on a helmet…but just because he didn’t have one on doesn’t give someone the right to run him over…does it??? Some of you are just cold hearted and cruel…stupes

I wish some of you making these negative comments would stop the foolishness! If it were your family member you would be singing a different tune, Nonsense! :-x

RIP my Cuz. I know my family are grieving at this time, and to all I say Hold strong in this our trying times. We will surely miss you especially your sis Olivia, whom you had only spoken to last week for the first time. You were about to meet them next month, but alas it was not meant to be. Go with the Angels my Cuz and Rest in Perfect Peace. To your son Ryan, you have lost a father, but I know he will be looking down on you. He loved you a whole lot. Cherish the memories that you have of him.

  28. June 21, 2012

Good. Afternoon my people. It is very sad to read about our citizens dying in such accidents. Rip young man but bike riders must understand that this activity is very dangerous and please wear your helmets.

    • June 21, 2012

Helmets do help, but it’s not the solution. My son was wearing his helmet. He died in a similar accident. ALL drivers should SHARE THE ROAD! Some people think it is okay to overtake others or leave their broken vihicles in the path of oncoming traffic. I sympathize with the Seaman family in their loss. We ALL have to CAREFUL when we are on the road because we ALL have the same RIGHT to be on these roads. I was told the only person that could tell the truth is dead; therefore, even if the deceased was 100% right they still carry the blame.

Kiyen death came as a genuine shock to me. i know that we all will succumb to death on way or the other but this one trust me left me dumbfounded. I worked with this young man for years I can tell you he was an ambitious young man who was technically inclined and self motivated. Like all of us we have good qualities and not so good qualities he was no exception. He made some bad mistakes that landed him in hot water but justice was served. Now he is gone I feel oblige to write this post. RIP Kiyen…. gone but you legacy (good or bad) lives on.

What does this have to do with the tragic news? Do you think that your comments are appropriate after the tragic and untimely death of someone? do you think this is what his family wants to read? They already know about his past; they want to read words of comfort and compassion from caring and sympathetic family, friends and strangers. Would you have wanted these unnecessary comments made after losing a loved one tragically? Think before you post your comments, please.
