Fire destroys house in Massacre

Remnants of the house in Massacre

Fire officials say they are not ruling out arson as they investigate a house fire in the village of Massacre.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Fire and Ambulance Services Philsbert Samuel said at about 11:20 pm on Thursday, a concrete and wood structure was destroyed by fire.

“The home belonged to Curtis Peltiere and at the time was occupied by a family of seven.  The house was totally destroyed by fire. The cause of fire is under investigation however, police is not ruling out arson,” he said.

Meantime police also responded to a house fire in Dos Dan on Thursday morning.

“The house, a concrete structure was owned by Lynthia Williams and at the time was occupied by Enid Williams and her adopted daughter. Due to smoke inhalation, both individuals were taken to the Portsmouth hospital and discharged,” he said,

He also thanked the villagers of Portsmouth who assisted in putting out the fire.

ADMIN, although we make mistakes and overlook certain matters, some of them are too impatient. They do not take the time to read and digest the article. :)

      @ dominican abroad

Read the article again. There were two fires, one in Massacre and one in Dos Dan. The two occupants in the house in Dos Dan were taken to the Portsmouth hospital. Dos Dan is closer to Portsmouth.
Of course, Massacre is far away, hours from Portsmouth.
