Insurance usually covers such costs after an investigation and it is such that this might be a blessing in disguise for LIAT, as due to the years of active service and the projected value to replace an aircraft today, they will receive more for it now, enough to maybe buy 2 new planes

I believe this was well planed so LIAT could call for the Governments to bail them out again and to get reed of some workers.. LAIT is just a waist of money and time after 40 add years in the Caribbean.

Do you know who the shareholders of LIAT are? If you do, then you will know that “we (including you) have started paying for our sins.” It is really unfortunate that you would choose to make a comment like that in such a situation given the reliance of the travelling public on LIAT. Shame on you!

Rather unfortunate. Accidents do happen, it may very well be a hangar where chemicals are kept along with planes for refurbishing, since most eyewitnesses reported a heavy explosion. Everything doesn’t have to be sinister

If that is the case then there is a serious flaw in LIAT’s safety practice.

I really hope this was a genuine accident and not a sabotage.
