Kingshill man found hanging

Police have confirmed the death of 52-year-old Philbert Thomas after he was found hanging at his residence in Kingshill.

Family members of Thomas spotted him hanging from the roof Tuesday morning, reports say, but it is unknown how long he had been there.

Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Police Force Claude Weekes said Thomas was last seen alive last Sunday afternoon, and police are carrying out investigations into the incident.

“He was transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital and upon examination he was officially pronounced dead by Dr Garvin Seaman somewhere about 9:55 a.m. A coroner’s inquest will be convened followed by a post-mortem,” Weekes reported.

Thomas was reportedly mentally ill.

All the christains DA have you mean to tell me The devil still in control, I thought christ told them that if they are saved the sign that shall follow them is that they will heal the sick. so because they fail they are blaming the devil.

My deepest sympathy to his family.
There is a reason why people take their lives and in such a manner. There is also a reason why they get a mental breakdown.
It is stated that there is a tendency to blame the devil for everything rather than blaming the person, the family unit and associates. There is always a reason for everything.
Prior to making all sorts of comments, we must consider what led to his mental breakdown. We need to get to the root of it from the moment he was a child to adulthood. Therein may lie the answer why he had this breakdown and subsequently committed suicide.
Do not give up on his soul as being lost. God weighs the circumstances of his life and what caused him to become mentally ill. He will judge him accordingly. It is not for us to judge.

“It is stated that there is a tendency to blame the devil for everything rather than blaming the person, the family unit, and associates. There is always a reason for everything”

TJLP and U What is your logic in the above statement?

Are you saying that we, as human beings have sole control over the good and bad things, or wicked and evil things that is taking place in our lives?

Are you saying that a person who is dying of cancer can choose to avoid that fate through his/her own human strength? Are you saying that some people are choosing to go to bed hungry. Did that man choose to live with mental illness. And if not, did God simply allow the above conditions just to cause people to suffer needlessly?

What do you mean by a tendency to blame the devil for everything? Since good things and bad things happen in our lives. When is the reason, for the thing that happens, God’s work, Satan’s work, and your work? Where did that logic of yours come from.

And if you are suggesting that we are not supposed to blame Satan for the bad things that happens in our lives, what is the apostle Paul teaching us, when he told us that he was sick to point of death, telling us that “a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of SATAN to buffet me”. Is Paul not saying that his sickness was the work of Satan in his body?

So if Paul could have handled this sickness in his body by his own strength, would he allow Satan to buffet him through pain and suffering? After all!

Have you read the story of Job in the Holy Bible?

And if so, you should know that Job was a man who had everything and anything a person will ever need in Life; but God allowed Satan to bring him down to bone and skin, sitting in rags and ashes. Why? Because Job was trying to live by his own strength, thinking that he was working for God, instead of allowing God to do His work through Him. This kind of rebuke and chastening cost Job forty years of his life with pain, suffering, and restoration

Perhaps you do not understand that as people of God, we must give Him the glory.

When we do not give God the glory for the things that is taking place in our lives He will allow Satan to come into us to buffet–pound, batter, or beat us–the only way God can teach us to understand that it is His love in us that must motivate to live according to His Ways, that He will be delighted with our attitude and conducts of living.

That is why Jesus said “I can of Myself do nothing” It is not about the good things we do, it is about acknowledging that God did that good thing through us. It is also true that Satan does his work of destruction and death through us, accordingly.

Jesus is telling us that He functioned by the Mind of God, Eternal Spirit, Christ who lived in Him. If Jesus claimed that He could not function with a human mind, do you believe that mind in the rest of us can cause to do anything for ourselves and for God?

There was a time when Jesus turned to Peter and He said to him: “get behind me Satan, because Jesus knew that Satan was the one speaking through Peter when he said a certain something.

The apostle Paul teaches us again, telling us:

“We do not wrestle against flesh and blood (the actual person or people among us) but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the dark age, against spiritual host of wickedness in heavenly places”. Ephesians 6: 12

We do not just sit around and say there is a reason for everything. That does not help anyone, it does not change anything. We need to search for the truth of the happenings of things. There is no better Teacher and Book, than God’s Holy Spirit and His Word in the Holy Bible. The answers are all there. And yes, the reason for the toil, the vile, the malice, the affliction, the distress and despair, is because Satan is working in our lives.

God wants us to acknowledge that fact, before He will do anything to save us from Satan’s claws. Otherwise we would not give Him the glory

If human beings had their choice of strength, to function in this world, there would be no need for the authority of God in our existence. We would chose to live, die, and resurrect ourselves again whenever and however we want to do so. There is a heavenly God and there is an earthly god, our only responsibility is the choice we make as to who we want to serve.

It is so sad that in this day and age, people refuse to be educated. We grew up hearing all kind of stupidity, but it is time we open our eyes and see, all the nonsense we were told were only folk tale. I raised up hearing that someone with a malenge, was someone do them that.{ malenge is a saw that wouldn’t heal] now we know that it is hard for a diabetic saw to heal. Every day, a new sickness is discovered, and what people used to say is mal, is really a sickness. To those who think all kind of sickness is of the devil, think again, especially those pastors that preaching this nonsense, when they or their family get sick, you do hear them preaching on that anymore, it becomes a different tune, I know what I am talking about. The man was sick, mental people commit suicide. —- Thank You

Only the Good Lord, who loves all his children, may jude your uncle. Only the Good Lords knows of the trials and tribulations your dear uncle went through in his life and what made him take this decision.
All this talk about the Devil comes from simple and superstitious minds.

        FED UP DOMINICAN

May I inform you that sickness, disease, all sorts of physical afflictions, and of course physical death is never the work of God. But most of the time those afflictions are the only ways, God will cause us to give Him the glory, when He has delivered us from the hands of Satan.

The problem of human beings, is that we like to dismiss the work of Satan in our lives, as if we will receive higher credits for being saints. Satan knows that too, that is why he is always trying to get the victory. We are just lucky that God is a Living God of Love, and He knows our lack of understanding, concerning Satan’s wicked schemes, as we easily accept his lies.

Do not ever forget that Satan told Eve that she would not die, even after God told her she would die. And she believed Satan. That belief of Eve, is the reason we are the way we are, as human beings today. Because Adam and Eve, died spiritually–suffering the penalty of separation from God, Eternal Spirit of Love, Truth, and Holiness–but Life is in the Spirit, not in the flesh.

Every human being is a child of a human parents, but not every human being is a child of God. You must be born again, of Water and the Spirit, says Jesus Christ. The flesh profits nothing! It is an existence of darkness and fruitlessness.

Remember even before Jesus, Himself, died on the cross, we read that nature experience the effect of that situation, in that the world turned into complete darkness for 3 hours in the middle of the day. Now Jesus had said to us: “I am the Light of the world”. So why the darkness before He died completely? Because He volunteered to release the “Light from Himself” that by our faith we would receive that Light in us, in that He cried out, My God, My God, why has Thou forsaken Me?

I can see why you cannot comprehend the work of the devil in this man because of his mental disability. But God must allow Satan in our lives, as He disciplines and trains our minds, even if an individual or many people might suffer the fate of death through that plan of God.

The man was mentally ill, but his death, as God allowed Satan to do this work, could be a lesson for the relatives, friends, and other people in that man’s surrounding–even our governament–who may not have served him according to the Ways of God. God knows what He is doing.

The death of this man may not be the complete end of him. Yes death in us is the work of Satan–the lies he feeds to our minds, which we chew up and digest. That man’s mind was being fed by Satan, for the length of time he suffered mental ilness–believe it or not.

But now, his relatives, friends, and other people who should have been responsible for his welfare–God’s work, and His plan for that man’s Life, through their service– should take time and review their relationship with him, when he was alive. Whether is our loved one, other persons, or ourselves, disobedient to God brings us death. We obey and we live. Bottom line!
