Government has declared September 03 and September 04 National Days of Mourning in the wake of the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Erika. All flags shall be flown at half-staff on all public buildings on both days.
President Charles Savarin shall deliver an address to the nation on September 3.
National Days of Prayer shall be held on September 05 and September 06. Activities related to the National Days of Prayer will be held at the local community level as a result of reduced access associated with the passage of Erika. A National Day Message of Prayer from the Government shall be read at all churches on the respective days.
These declarations are intended to honour lives lost as well as to offer thanksgiving.
Thank you God, we have to give you praise and say Thank You Lord very loud with our hearts and souls. We know it could have been much worse. So we honour the days of mourning and the days of National Prayer, our country and people need them.
Where are all the people who used to comment on DNO daily? Are they all in hiding. No words of comfort between us for each other? I hope since they are not here on DNO bashing our Government and the good work done by our citizens, they too are on the ground or in their respective communities overseas doing everything to help in the recovery of Dominica.
Tropical Storm Erika has opened the eyes of many. At least if anything else, we should say thank you for that. When it rains everyone gest wet we finally have come to realized that. Thank You DNO for your contribution in keeping us informed.
Today, Friday September 4, I am in prayer on behalf of the victims, of Tropical Storm, Erika, who were hit badly by its angry wind and raging waters.
O God of Spirit, in Love, Truth, and Holiness, we are Your people, calling out to You, from the pit of darkness, where the rage of storm Erika has buried us. O Lord, hear our call, hear our cry, let You ears be attentive to the words of our supplications. Reach out to us, as we give our hands to You; Lord please pull us through, from this dreadful pit.
O God, You have said in Your word, through Jesus,, that You will rebuke and chasten, those whom You Love. But even through your own rebuke and chastening, You remain with us, until our mind is humbled enough to show You; and what You want us to know, is that without You we can do nothing.
My God, O Lord, we acknowledge our weakness, so that You will cause Your strength to be gloried–as You reach out to deliver us; let Your Will be done in Jesus name. Amen!
What should i say it could have been worse.
