Stop the two way fussing, learn to spell and speak properly. The most important thing was that his heart was right with God, so he is spending eternity with his saviour. This should be a reminder to everyone that death is no respecter of person, and it’s appointed unto man once to died and after this the judgement. Please ask yourselves if i’m to die today or anytime will my eternity be in heaven, or hell, Tomorrow is not promise to no one. Gwenneth my prayers and thoughts are with you and your kids. Always remember his will be there in your time of grief.

Some of the comments here really make me sick to the stomach. I mean someone just died and instead of thinking of his family in this time of grief, some of you make it a time to mind the dead man’s business. Whoever he left as next of kin is none of your damn business! go wash ur dirty laundry and remove the skeltons from your closets before trying to expose someone else’s. Some of you ppl just need to get a damn life! get ur fat butts off the seat you are sitting on and go find hard work to do!! SUCH DUMMIES!

nb: he had a wife and five kids so the person thinking of jennifer and the twins first, come again!!! go do ur homework!!

These comments are in poor taste. God the man has just died it does not matter who he got who he had – give the people some time to grieve. Yes everyone involved will be grieving at this time and it is them who has to reconcile with each other in this time of grief.

    • "iron" Mike Tyson
      January 31, 2011

So by this I take it that you mean the other officers should not be out doing police work but rather should have stayed to babysit the dead officer. Or that they should be all out at the same time thus leaving the station unmanned. I am confused!! Please explain clearer what you are trying to say.

The article reads as is and as I comprehend it except that cause of death was not stated. In time it will be known after an investigation and/or the doctor’s prognosis is conducted. It leaves readers to wonder what caused his death. If it is a natural cause he may have died of a heart attack or aneurysm. This is not unusual and occurs to many people, specifically men, younger or older. Recently of all I have been told of a few cases.
As for those who, as always, steer from the topic of the article, this is not the time to speak of, to speculate and insinuate about the amount of years he was a Constable and that he did not receive a promotion and also should have been offered one and provided with re-training.
Putting it mildly, this On-Line Website and article are not meant for gossip of this type and other nature. It is not the Dear Bella gossip column.
If you are so curious you should contact the Chief of Police and write the local newspapers.
DON reports the news, keeps us informed about the goings-on in Dominica, gives us an opportunity to read the news and to comment “on the news of the day/night”. We should be grateful for this and comment appropriately – according to the topic.
I do think all of you should mind your own business and see about your personal affairs. There is a tendency that some people excel in minding the business of others and putting their mouths in the affairs of others when they should refrain from doing so. They are so busy minding the business of others that they forget about theirs. Such people will be left behind.
You are not sensitive to the nature of this sad news and also towards the grieving family. You must use your common sense. Some of you will make inquisitive neighbors. You must think “twice” before you speak, write and comment. The latter, you criticize others on this Website for doing just that but you do not practice what you preach. As the saying: “Do as I say but do not do what I do.” Indeed!
Your types of comments are uncalled for and at this time when a family is grieving the sudden loss of their loved one. Obviously, so are the Police Department and other Dominicans who knew him and worked with him whether near or far.
It is not unusual that many employees who have worked for the same employer for a number of years have remained in the same position and until they retire. Who is to be blamed? Are you blaming the employer or the employee? The employer has the personnel records of the employee and knows more than you do. There are reasons for all things. As another saying: “You are allowing your brains/mind to work overtime.” Rather than pray (also for them) they gossip and mind the business of others.
I know some Carbons in Dominica. No doubt he is a member of their family, be it an uncle or cousin.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of the belated Constable Wills Carbon. With your faith, you know that God is with you as always. You are in my thoughts and my prayers.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen!

Shortly after a transfer the man died? WHAT A SHAME! There are police officers who have not worn the uniform for years probably decades! Only one set seem to be the “transferable” type. … Just looking for justification for his unwarranted promotion as Acting Chief. I have never seen the Police Force in so much bad light as it is now. Poor man died after being transferred to Castle Bruce, too many frequent and unjustifiable transfers, caused the poor man heart to break!

Some officers continue to fight each other for promotion, so much jealousy, greed and hate in Police Headquaters..So many of the hierarchy hitting on the constables! Don’t worry families your tears will fall on their heads and the God who sees you in private will reward openly when he start to throw them down! As for Carrette his time will come and so many others! Frigging man keeps barking for his dinner! Your time must come! That death is on the police force back for frustrating the officer and many others like him who go through this suffering!

    R.I.P. Mr. Carbon.

Something in the article really bothered me, where it said, “Constable Wills Carbon, a police officer for about 20 years.”

How can the police force expect to get top recruits of ambitious and qualified young people with so little opportunity for promotion in the force?

Can you imagine 20 yrs in a job and still at the same rank that you were when you started out? This isn’t a knock on Carbon, this is a knock on the force because I know of many others in the same position.

THERE ARE THOSE WITH HOW MANY YEARS THAN YHE COMMISSIONER AND DEPUTY….SHOULD THEY BE IN THE POST BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OY YEARS THEY ARE THERE FOR?

PEOPLE DONT GET PROMOTED BECAUSE OF YEARS IN A JOB….

      STOP BEING FOOLISH PEOPLE

Right on pardner… this is why I left…. this year would be 10 tens and I knew that if i’d stayed, i’d have still been at the same rank as when I started…

Maybe some people just want to serve their time in the force in peace without any headache.

Some are of the opinion that the additional pay that comes with the rank does not suitably reflect the amount of responsibility and accountability that comes with the promotion. Some make the choice that remaining at a lower rank gives them more time to pursue additional hobbies and more time to spend with their families.

Rank isn’t everything. Peace of mind is more.

Something is wrong. After 20 years on the force he died as a constable.Where was his evaluaton over the years. He should have been retrained to give him an opportunity to propel himself.Or according to Carrette was he one of the kindergarten dummies. We need a dominican with no political ties,we need a proper administrator not necesarilly a police officer, someone like Dr St Jean or Benanzine,as commiisioner not Cyrille Carrette. May his soul rest in peace.

I am sorry that he did not get any advancement in his career. The Police Force has very in the way of Human Resource Management. You must be crazy to want to make Behanzin Chief of Police. Things would be far worse. Trust me. The man suffers from Narcissistic Personally Disorder it would seem. Let us just focus on the matter at hand. Someone’s son, father, husband, brother, friend just died.
